Jacks has been my favorite burger and breakfast restaurant for years. They have always been consistent , friendly and timely. Unfortunately ever since Covid things have completely changed. They seem to be staffed well enough but most employees just stand around and let a couple do all the work. They act as if they don’t want to be there and are extremely indifferent. People wait for their food for 30 minutes or so while b very little activity is going on behind the line. My favorite location is why 72 in Tuscumbia, Al. Which is by far the best in this area but it also is dealing with the same problems. The urinal in the men’s restroom has had an out of order sign above it for 4 months and there is no sign of repair. People are saying this is the new norm but I refuse to believe or except that people in the “service “ industry should be allowed to treat the public with this type of disrespect and apathy! I hope something can be done and things can change. I would like to suggest that management and employees be trained in customer service and be held to a high standard. There are other businesses that do this and are extremely successful. Thank you.

When Skylar the “breakfast coordinator” starts YELLING at the Manager Gellie, yelling about Kyle the cook on shift today… Myself & about 8 other customers were in shock jaw dropping SHOCK!! Back When I General Managed Restaurants, Hotels & Apartments if one of my employees would have started SCREAMING at me like that I would have fired them immediately!! Corporate needs to do something before this store starts losing customers! Skylar below in the photos, I rate you #1 most rude, blatant disrespectful employee in store #244 of the year!!!

Went to the Jacks location at the Argo exit and I was the only customer in the restaurant . I stood at the counter for over 20 minutes waiting to get my order taken while one employee who should have been available to take my order played on his cellphone. On 10/30/24 I visited the drive thru of the brand new location of Jacks located on 200 Oak Mountain Trail (Store #388). I went through the drive thru and when I turned my head and looked thru the window I saw behind the counter the nastiest floor! Several french fries that had been stepped on, and not to mention the trash behind the counter. With this said no telling what the dining room looked like. There were several employees doing absolutely nothing but cutting up so I decided to say something to the manager. The very young manager by the name Dillon, who obviously was very inexperienced to run a business came to the window. I asked him to look behind him on the floor. He said ok what? I said that just looked so nasty. He replied you mean the stepped on French fries and garbage and I said yes. And his reply was we don’t clean till this evening! I told him you have all these young men doing absolutely nothing and stepping all over them. Well his final reply to me was “ ma’am what’s the point of us cleaning if we are just going to continue stepping all over them? Don’t you worry I have this handled and shut the window!” I was stunned. Young folks these days have no pride but are there just to collect an undeserved check! I called the home office and left message for the General Manager, Elizabeth Cruz, who did not return my call so I decided for the first time to write a review. Back in the day and I mean way back, I too while I was In high school worked at the old Jack’s on highway 31 and buddy they ran a tight ship! You never stopped working and if you passed or stepped on something on the ground you had better pick it up! Yep! Won’t be going there again! I can just imagine what the kitchen looks like! NASTY! In all honesty you can’t blame Dillon! He is a child way...

WELL, I am sad to say, this will probably be my LAST visit to the Irondale store. Went at lunch, today, just a little after 12. Had a little snafu while ordering, (my fault and it WAS corrected) AND I DID apologize TWICE! Order was (1) Big Jack, (1) 3pc chicken & biscuit, (1) PLAIN burger and (2) large fries. Simple? Obviously NOT. Arrived home, unpacked lunch and WHOA..... the "PLAIN" burger had whatever that goop was (probably a blend of ketchup & mayo) PLUS pickles and onions. Can't be consumed, stomach ache in the making, AND IT WAS DRY!! Actually had enough food to stretch for 3 and we did. However, while eating, I called the store, When they answered, I told them who I was, APOLOGIZED AGAIN for the "snafu" and then (YES! I WAS SARCASTIC) asked "what part of PLAIN did they NOT understand?" NO RESPONSE, NO NOTHING......SHE HUNG UP ON ME!!! TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!!! I called back 3 times...the phone rang & rang until the timed out busy signal came on. Called one more time, YIPPEE! Someone answered, I asked for the manager. Explained the WHOLE situation. She offered me "this & that" and PLEADED, yes PLEADED for me NOT to call corporate. NOT happening. Corporate doesn't have a number where someone actually answers customer service, SO I opted to fill out whatever form they have. GUESS WHAT!! It times out and suggested that I start over. WRONG answer. Hence a LONG, WORDY review. Been a faithful Jack's customer since the 1960's, I don't think anything could right this. Bad enough that the order was wrong, but the attitude that followed, plus the website's "time out". I guess I'm done.Guess I won't be going "BACK BACK BACK TO JACK'S JACK'S JACK'S " again. I see Jack's main offices has the same BAD reviews as does their locations. Jack's way back use to have great service but NOT SO today. Doesn't seem they give a damn any more.

Below is the review I wrote on Jack's Trusstville location you might care to read. Me and my wife and as many of our family and friends will not visit another Jack's location ever. They won't go out of business without our business but if they keep going down as they are one day they'll close.

I write many reviews so you the public shall know just how good or bad food places today really are. You can read others reviews to truly understand why we reviewers take out of our time to write one. We don't gain nor get paid to write any reviews we post.

My wife and I eat out most everyday and yesterday (Jul. 16, 2019) we were on our way to a doctor's appointment.

I told the girl as she took our order we needed 1 large mashed potato and 1 large green beans plus 3 chicken finger with fries and med. drink.

I paid the price she told me and we went to a table to wait for our food only to be address at our table by the same girl that had took our order and the money she told us it was that we had to pay more. She'd made a mistake.

This is BAD BUSINESS!

When you walk up to any counter and place an order then pay out of pocket the price you're told and you pay that price and walk to a table or even leave after getting your food then if there were any "Mistakes" made it wasn't YOU that made such mistakes and the mistake should fall on the persons making those mistakes. Not the customers.
