OK, first the positive. The new decor is cool and the restaurant is clean.
Now for the honest review. We ordered a burger, buffalo chicken sandwich, and the patty melt, all with the side of fries and three diet Pepsi‘s. The total was $57. (I’ll let you decide if that’s a good price.)
First, let’s talk about ordering. So you don’t come in and sit down anymore you order your food first and then go sit down if there’s a table available and they will call you. Hopefully there’s a table available when your food is ready or else I don’t know what you’re supposed to do…😂 There’s a big menu to the left with a QR code that says order online however it doesn’t work so I asked a manager if you could order online he told me yes use the QR code lol. I pointed out to him that I did use the QR code showed him my phone. He got his phone out and tried and he could not order either but he also told me if you order online you have to take it to go?? I’m pretty sure that’s not gonna be the case because that’s not the case anywhere. Regardless it didn’t matter because the online ordering didn’t work. If you’ve eaten at Shamrock Inn before you’re gonna notice, the hamburger is not nearly as good as the shamrock burger. I can’t put my finger on what it was, but it was a perfect shape Pattie almost like it was frozen but not it was bland but it didn’t taste quite frozen. We were told that we couldn’t order the burger, prepared medium because company policy dictates at all hamburgers have to be prepared medium well??? Buffalo chicken sandwich came without sauce when we asked, they provided a small container of sauce and said that it should’ve been on there. After that the sandwich tasted fine. The patty melt was also fine however, the irony is the hamburger on the patty melt was very pink , medium or less 🤣
There is no table service so don’t expect a waitress or waiter to come to your table and help you or ask you any questions to be of assistance . If you’re used to going to Shamrock and sitting down like a normal restaurant to be waited on, this will be different for you. Everything is self service. You need to go get your own condiments. You need to go get your own refills. And somehow they charge you extra for using your credit card and ask for a tip? I have no problem tipping servers, but I was wondering why they were asking for a tip when the only thing they do for you, literally, is cook your food and that seems like the bare minimum of what a restaurant has to do when you pay for it. And the odd thing is their staff hanging out by the soda machine and as soon as one of our plates appeared empty after we ate the food they immediately showed up, asked if they could take the garbage to clean the table sending the signal that they were definitely trying to turn the tables and I would completely understand that if it were busy, but by the time we were done eating, there were only two tables with customers. We were hoping to have a new spot to watch the Bucs games on Sundays and there is a sufficient amount of televisions to do just that. There was no volume on the TV to hear the games but at least we could watch. Maybe this is something...
Read moreGreat addition to Floral City, nicely updated but kept Shamrock charm and some of the original decor. I love the updated outdoor patio area, they have more TVs than Shamrock had which I am usually not a fan of but I love the way they set it up here and I think people will be happy to have the additional TVs even one outside. The menu is very similar to the old Shamrock, keeping the Shamrock burger and other popular items.
I didn't have a chance to eat there yet but going to soon as the wings look delicious from pics I've seen. I did have their sangria on tap. That's a nice choice if you're not into any of their beers on tap. I do prefer the old wrap around bar that the old Shamrock had as I feel there's not enough bar seats at the bar but that's just me and I would love to see some craft beers on tap as well as some popular Cracker items added over time like their flatbread pizzas. Other than that I'm very excited to have them in town and I think everybody's going to really...
Read moreAnother cool little quarter cracker location that’s just opened up.
Wife loved the fried fish, my buddy loved his patty melt and I thought the fried ocher was very good. The country fried steak sandwich seemed to be missing something it needs gravy or some spices or something. It was well cooked, but it just didn’t have a ton of flavor. I asked for some Guinness gravy to it and it helped being that this is Florida cracker. I’m sure they will get that right as well. This is a great stop over spot with nice service and a cool little location to sit outside or even the inside is nice as well. The staff tries...
