I have gotten breakfast from here twice. The Western omelet is delicious, so I might go more often except they cannot seem to understand how to make home fries crispy. I was told they deep fry them, so it shouldn't be that difficult. I DO NOT like soggy potatoes. The color wasn't even tan. They simply weren't cooked long enough. It was like "I heard what you wanted, I just don't care. This is how we cook them." To be clear, so that no one tries to claim they were soggy due to being in a carryout container, they were exactly the same on both visits.
Additionally, there seems to be some credence to the reviews that state regulars get preferential service. During my dine in experience a party was seated after I was, but was served before I was, finished eating and was rising to leave only moments after my food was delivered. It was at least 40 minutes before I was served,
For my carryout experience i was told 35 min for my order to be made which I found rather shocking, but whatever. When I arrived, I actually observed the cook and noted why. There was no hustle, but rather a very languid pace. Also, the person who finally came to take my money saw me walk in and then proceeded to play with the phone (their music system, i believe) before finally waiting on me.
I would like to try other things, but hangry is real. I would have to go not hungry to be able to sit and wait that long, and who wants to go to a restaurant when they aren't hungry? I do not have enough time on my lunch break to place a carryout order, wait for it to be done, and then actually be able to taste it. That is unfortunate bc it looks like just the kind of dive I am usually drawn to.
I read through many of the reviews prior to visiting. I often decide whether to try a restaurant based on the photos. Usually I will read a few reviews as well, but normally the pics and the menu are the deciding factor. That being said, I almost did not try this place due to some of the comments made by the owner, even though both the pics and the menu...
Read moreThe first and last time going there. The food was ok, but that was the only thing going for it. When we got there, there was no visible seating. We were about to leave until a customer told us that there was seating in the backroom. Someone working there could have at least acknowledged us. At the table, there was only one menu (waitress never offered another menu). We ordered our food. The burger I ordered was good but had to pay extra for lettuce and tomato. Most restaurants that's an assumed part of a burger. We received the bill I went pay with a card. At the register, they told me the total (tax included). I paid it and added a tip. When got the receipt, I seen it was more than quoted. I mentioned it to the cashier and she said the machine automatically adds more to the payment. That is normal, but most places have signs saying that there is a charge. The cashier then said the sign was on the door, which it was not. The worse part was they said the machine added a charge to the tip as well. That doesn't make sense it was all on one single charge. It makes me feel they added the extra charges themselves. Communication and customer service are...

OLDER REVIEW i have been coming here for over 20 yrs. they have changed owners 3 times but the food is the same (with some new improvements lately). they have passed the original recipes on to the new owners each time. the burgers are the same today as they were 20 yrs ago (best burgers in town). they have added new selections to the daily plate specials (roast beef is very good) and a few more modern sides like fried pickles. sometimes it can be an extra wait for food during busy hours (7-9, 11-1) since they are so popular and they only have one small grill with one person cooking. that may soon change with the new expansion but until then, use the time to chitchat with the staff or all the regulars that come in every day.
charlie (newest owner) is putting everything he has into improving the restaurant and has plans of expanding the size. they have good country food at...
