It's a solid Mexican restaurant, the food is always of the quality, the beer is cold and the price used to be the same as going to fast food. However, they have updated their prices, and the same meal that I got last year now costs on average $14 more than it did previously. It used to be around $36 for 2 adults. Now the same order is $50. So now they only get my business once every 2-3 months rather than how we used to go twice each month. It's a family place so if kids bother you, go pay more and find a quieter place. If you have kids, bring them and their friends, it's all part of the atmosphere. When you need to feed the family, and you can afford expensive mid quality mexican food, and you have young kids and don't feel like dressing up, Senior Lopez is the place. They do have other sections of the restaurant and I think it would be nice if they were willing to sit people without kids in a section that is otherwise sitting empty. But thus far they have chosen to increase prices, without giving any consideration to improving the dinning experience, what I was ok with in my previous review as dealing with kids, was defeated by them increasing the price. While still sitting people in the Hopkinsville version of CiCi's pizza, without the lower cost. I will note, in the what kind of seating section of this questionnaire, i list booths only. There is outdoor, and bar and other areas. You just are not allowed to use...
Read moreRoberto is a server and he is extremely rude. There is another male server there as well I do not know his name but he is rude as well. You walk in they are standing at the counter thinking no one else speaks Spanish but says oh she is only one no Im not taking her you take her, no you take her, no we give her to new girl. The new girl actually was very pleasant and gave great customer service. Roberto and the other guy was so rude I was embarrassed to have my family with me earlier that week. Roberto barely spoke and he can speak English but acted as if we were a bother to him and he never checked on us until we raised our hands for extra drinks refills and then only filled one child's cup not all cups. The kids meal was the last to arrive extremely late after adults food delivered to where we thought he forgot. He never said a word about it still cooking or anything threw it on table and left. The tenders were raw in the middle. Had to wait to get his attention and ended up getting someone else attention to fix the situation. No apology nothing. For the price you pay there you should ha e way better...
Read moreThey have outdoor seating available! And our server brought us out a heater which was nice.
I was really hoping for so actual Mexican food, but once again I was disappointed. It was very American blah Mexican. If you like that kind of food you will probably like this place, I however coming from Southern California and having lived in Mexico, I am picky when it comes to Mexican food. With that said, their beans were very good! They were probably my favorite part. I got the Nachos Lopez, they were OK. They were good sized, I shared them with my 6 and 3 year old and we didn't finish them. My 10 year old got the taco kids plate. She didn't care for the taco meat, but like the beans and rice. We also got the soppapias (not sure if i spelled that right). They were pretty good, but a little overcooked. If I didnt know how they should be i would have been very pleased. My girls all loved them.
Overall if you aren't super picky when it comes to getting authentic Mexican food...
