I'm really not sure how to rate Dino's. It's more or less a quintessential country diner that you'd find off the beaten path. In other words, you don't have many choices. But, you could also do a lot worse than Dino's given the dearth of options. Atmosphere-wise, it's also pretty much classic road-side tavern. City-folk would call it "quaint", and I call it "country".
We went two nights while we were in the area - the first night, we rolled in pretty late (maybe a half hour before closing), and the staff wasn't resentful at all. The pizza was good, and the beer was cold. On a side note, they do have a couple of local beers on tap, which is nice. They let us take our time eating, and didn't make it feel like they were cleaning around us while we took advantage of their WiFi while we ate.
Second night, I had a Salisbury steak, which was acceptable. The gravy was a bit heavier than I'd normally like, but hey. These are diner cooks, not chefs, which is also why I didn't try one of their fancier dishes.
So all-in-all, I think they were pretty decent food and service-wise, but I felt that the prices were a bit steep for what we got. $50-ish for dinner for two (no wine). But at the same time, it's the middle of nowhere, and the other options are few (and in some cases a lot more expensive).
I'd stick with the pizza next time, and enjoy the Wi-Fi. If you're new to the Quinault Lake area, cell service can be sketchy, at best, so it seems everyone offers, and lives off, the Wi-Fi the local...
Read moreI’m really not sure how the ratings are so high here. We arrived a few mins before they opened and waited a few more mins after opening to go in until we saw another customer go inside. When we went in the waitress was just turning on lights and acted like we were annoying her by being there a couple mins after opening. Service was lack luster and she continued seemingly being annoyed with our presence. They opened at noon and we were driving back home so not many options on this stretch. The food was very generic, seemed like lots of frozen/packaged type things and was just ok but pricy. My nephew got an 8” pizza with 4 toppings that wasn’t very good and it cost $24!! I got their “fish” chowder and a salad. The chowder had one piece of fish that I could actually make out and maybe a couple more tiny flakes of fish. It wasn’t bad but wasn’t good. A family came in shortly after us and they were turned off by the inside, not sure if they wanted to eat there. After going back and forth they decided to get take out. The server trash talked the family loud enough for us to hear when they went outside to wait. It was honestly just awful, we would...
Read moreThey are probably one of the only places to grab food in the area. Seemed they only had one cook, one waitress and one gentleman helping. So they were busy which would explain the long wait… to be greeted, sat and order. The pizza came out fairly fast. I just thought them charging extra for the bacon was a little much since we ordered the Hawaiian pizza but asked for it to only be on half the other half topped with bacon. The mozzarella sticks we ordered took over 26 minutes to get so I sorta regretted ordering those. The toppings on the pizza were good just pricey. The pizza crust was very thin and crispy. It sorta reminded me of a frozen pizza crust. So I’m guessing the freeze the crust and then use it. It’s worth a stop in if your hungry since like I said there isn’t many options around. $30 for a 8 inch pizza, cheese sticks and water is a little pricey so be prepared to pay the extra bucks! The gentleman helping out was so helpful, kind and fast. Definitely appreciated his help! I think he was a waiter too just not or waiter but he was definitely more helpful and involved than our waitress was....
