BOOMERS — Restaurant in Horn Lake

Used to be a decent place to get a bite to eat. But inflation is ruining them. Higher prices AND reduced portions. I understand things cost more now so u charge more. I can totally get that. But when u raise price AND cut portion size that is just wrong. I used to go here a few times a week but stopped months ago when I ordered the smoked sausage I like so much there and they quit filling up the whole bun but the prices had increased. Back when the large drink was still 32 oz. Got a taste for them the other day and decided to give one more chance. Ordered a large Reuben combo. The difference in a regular and large is near 3 dollars. And I ordered a second large unsweetened tea as well as the large unsweetened tea with the meal. And they have reduced the size of the large drinks but only reduced the price by 25 cents. Which you still paying 3 dollars for a 20-24 oz drink. So I paid $16+ for a Reuben fries and 2 teas which they gave me sweet tea and I didn't realize till I was a few miles away. The meat on the sandwich didn't cover the whole sandwich only the dead center. This establishment has become a joke. I don't understand all the good recent reviews. Like I said they used to be great. But when u both raise prices and reduce portions you will lose customers. I'm sure it doesn't matter to you though bc for every one customer u lose there is still two who will patronize the establishment. So whatever. I won't be...

My car stopped at 51 and nail rd right beside boomers. It was like 90 degrees today had to wait 25 to 30 mins before my husband can get there, so I walked right beside my car to boomers. When I walked in I felt it wasn't a place for my kind (black) everyone stared at me (about 6 white patrons)they just stared lol, I walked to the empty counter there were 3 ppl behind there I stood there 4 mins while 1 was @ the drive thru 1 chic was Walking to the back through doors and the older hag got smart and told me whenever she get done she'll get to me. Get done what? Sitting there? I politely walked me & my blk money across the street I literally cried buying my drink from the gas station across from it, to the point where he told me go ahead I hear that a lot and i didn't pay for my drink. Blk ppl don't spend your money where it or you aren't respected....

Not all Cokes are created equal. So let me just say there's something particularly satisfying and old-fashioned about the Coke I got at Boomer's. The shake I got (Nutella, by the way, and why have I never seen a Nutella shake before?) was obviously made with good vanilla ice cream, almost tasted like homemade. Mmm. The burger patties are pretty much exactly what you would expect from an old-school Southern diner: not thick, but very, very tasty on a lightly toasted bun. The fries came out fresh and piping hot and were done right, crisp on the outside, fluffy on the inside.
