After Perissos winery we needed some tex mex to help soak up all the wine testing. We came in with group of nine (9) and were immediately seated in a back area that worked great for us. It allowed us to talk with each other and not have to yell over any noise or other conversations. The restaurant looks fairly new and the staff greeted us with smiles and seated us pretty quick. It was early about 4:45 so that may have something to do with it. This place I suspect fills up quick as it sits right on the lake and appears to have access for boaters from the water. It is fairly large place with a nice outside seating area with 3 large cooling units for those really hot days (like today 102 in the shade). Unfortunately no one ordered anything from the bar so can't really speak to that all still feeling pretty good from the wine tasting but chips, salsa and queso were really good fresh, spicy (even queso) but little warning the chips are a little thicker than normal so they are a little harder just heads up but I liked them you could dip your chip in the thick salsa and it did not break. Our server Chrystal was very nice and made sure our water glasses stayed full she even left a pitcher which some thought was a little lazy I think its pretty smart especially when you got 9 people and we are all drinking plenty of H2O because of the heat. My wife and I "shared" the number 41 it was beef, chicken and cubed chorizo in queso sauce all tossed in with sautéed (GREAT) onions comes with side of pico, rice, and refried beans we ordered side of guacamole and shredded cheese forgot the sour cream oh well. The flavor was amazing had never had chorizo in my fajitas before wow what a great flavor. The flour tortillas were nice and thick had good flavor as well then soaked up the cheese and chorizo grease plus doubled as a napkin as you wiped your mouth on the last bite. Another couple order the beef, chicken and shrimp fajitas for two(2) and they had so much food so best advice is when ordering their fajitas unless you want a lot of leftovers just order single portions. The kids meals were pretty basic cheese enchilada plate or quesadilla or taco. Daughter had the cheese enchilada plate and loved it all granted she ordered double rice (not big bean fan) and they missed that but she ate everything except the beans and was happy. Definitely a place we will return when back in the area and suggest if YOU are in the...
Read moreFirst of all, let me start with how quickly we were seated by the waiter. However, one thing I immediately noticed was the really good mood and vibe of the entire restaurant. Then, the waiter came and took the order for our drinks, and was really nice. Soon after, he came to take our orders didn't waste anytime yet didn't rush us. Later, the food came faster than I have gotten at any restaurant, even some fast food joints. However, the speed of their food didn't compromise the immense and deep flavor profiles the food provided. I ordered the Carne Al Pastor Plate and the pork was perfectly cooked, juicy, and had all the flavor you could want, spicy, sweet, savory, umami, sour. All working in perfect unison to make the best eating experience. The guacamole was some of the best my family has ever had, the pico de gallo was highly fresh and impressive. My brother ordered some enchiladas which were perfectly balanced and didn't have too much cheese or sauce and was the best we have had due to the flavor, texture, and balance. My father ordered chicken paradillas which was beautiful chicken with sauteed onions and bell peppers. The chicken was perfectly cooked and immensely juicy with a nice plate of cheese, guacamole, and pico de gallo. It came with some of the softest perfectly cooked flour and corn tortillas. My father also ordered a margarita which he stated, "This is the best margarita I have ever and at any restaurant or bar." At the end of our eating experience the waiter asked if we wanted dessert, although we all wanted, our stomachs were filled to brim with flavorful food. He rapidly brought the check and was very nice to us the...
Read moreMy husband drives to pick up our order for family of 5...30 minutes later he returns but one of our meals wasn’t included. I call the restaurant to explain and ask if they could just refund the missing dish? She proceeds to argue with me and is talking to other employees in the background who do not believe we were missing a dish. She then tells me my husband was here, went to the bar and had four shots of tequila! Now under different circumstances (ie, not being hungry and that being the most insane thing I’ve ever heard) I would have laughed, which I did but more in a “are you being serious way”....She persisted and repeated this again and again, when I told her that was ridiculous as my husband does not drink tequila (like not ever!), nor would he take a shot of any alcohol, or even a drink when he is driving with our son, and since he was standing right next to me, I verified his sobriety. She persisted and denied any legitimacy that we didn’t get all of our food and it was my husband getting hammered at the bar. Honestly, it was the most insane inhuman conversation I have had, ever...I don’t do conflict either and it was almost as if she was looking for a fight. Their food is often good and we used to go weekly but after this I can’t stomach giving them any business.
Oh, and they put milk in their guacamole in case that’s an issue for you, I think they should...
