FIVE STARS FOR THE MEATLESS MENU ITEMS! šš¼š„šš¼ seriously, the seasoned hand cut fries here are bomb, but add melty melty plant based cheese on top- HEAVEN and RARE!! If I was blindfolded I would give my last dollar that it was real cheese- I even asked the waitress. Now the ranch isnāt vegan so bring your own (Hidden Valley makes one) but we didnāt care, the fries were sensational. The buffalo cauliflower bites were a pretty big disappointment portion wise. It was 8.99 for the basket you see in the pics and it just wasnāt $10 worth honestly and more sauce than anything. However The flavor was really good but for that kinda money you can buy 3-4 heads of it and sauce it up at home so I recommend sticking with the vegan cheese fries as the app. They donāt skimp there at all! Now for the showstopper- the vegan Philly steak sub. HOLY MUSHROOM. Words hardly express the smokey, savory, āmeatyā goodness that was that dang Philly. I also asked the waitress if it was real meat and cheese bc AGAIN, I couldnāt tell⦠it was that dang perfect. This completely took away any feeling I had about the sad cauliflower all day. I will have dreams about the fries and Philly til I die. I pride myself in being a pretty darn good cook and Iām at a loss on how to recreate that Philly. Donāt believe me? Try it or youāre missing out, seriously. And your heart and belly will thank you. As far as the pizza goes, itās not my favorite kinda crust. Reminds me of that cheap Pizza Shack crust thatās kinda thin and floppy. But I always say even bad pizza is good pizza- and this isnāt bad pizza by any means. And THEY HAVE PLANT BASED PEPPERONI!!!!!!! Did I think it was real meat again? Yes. Yes I did. These guys are good. Too good. If you canāt find parking, donāt give up. Circle the block or get creative bc this place is definitely worth the experience, especially if you like a dive bar feel, fun atmosphere, awesome patio...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreJust had a very disappointing experience at Sam's Pizza Pub and Restaurant. Restaurant hours shows open at 4:00. We invited our friends, it was their first time at this restaurant. Arrived at 4:15 and all doors were locked, Open sign was off. Knocked and eventually someone came and opened the entrance door for the four of us. My wife and I decided on a pizza. The menu shows either a 9" of 14" pizza size. The waiter informed us there was a 12" size, just not on the menu. Supreme was priced at $23.95 for the 14", with all ingredients. We decided on the 12" size, with 1/2 supreme, 1/2 just pepperoni and were still charged $23.95 for the 12" pizza and $18 for a smaller than average size pitcher of beer. Asked the waiter if the bill was correct and was told that I needed to speak to his manager. The manager informed me that his mother (the owner of Sam's Pizza) set the price on the pizzas and that because my wife and I ordered a split, smaller 12" size pizza (1/2 just pepperoni) that we would be charged the full $23.95. I told him the pricing didn't sound reasonable. He turned away saying that if I could find a better pizza, with the same or better quality of ingredients that was being used at their restaurant, that he recommended that we go there instead of Sam's again. With a tip, the bill was a little over $50, for a 12" (1/2 pepperoni, 1/2 supreme) and a smaller than average pitcher of beer. Sound reasonable? And on top of that, a manager (son of the owner/ his mother) with a take it or leave it attitude. Paid the bill and vowed...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOur family of four was visiting from out of town. Took a chance based on an "around me" search. Felt like we smacked it out of the park! They're firing on all cylinders. Ordered a 14" Bacon, Chicken, Ranch. Absolutely loved it and had a couple pieces to take home. Started off with the cheesy fries and added bacon. Outstanding.
The food was very good. The time lapse between order and delivery was much sooner than anticipated, given the crowd they had on a Saturday evening. Atmosphere was very intriguing and we spent a lot of time looking at the license plates and hidden treasures on the walls and ceilings. We also enjoyed the people watching extravaganza we had access to.
There was only one thing better than the food and the vibe, and that was our server. We feel so bad we never asked for his name. It was because he was so good, in a chaotic environment, that he made us feel like we were his only table. We knew that wasn't the case and I'd bet that each table he had felt they too were special. He said he'd been in hospitality for 30 years. He didn't look old enough for the math to work out, but his skill set certainly confirmed the possibility.
Highly recommend the place if you're visiting the area. I have to assume that if you're from the area, you already know about...
