I finally had a chance to stop by this place. I was super excited and was already having a taste for some fried catfish.
Overall: it’s average. Which is why I give it three stars.
Pros: —pretty reasonable prices —very fast service —fried good (but not how I asked for it to be fried).
Cons: —packaged tarter sauce. (That would have given them a full star in my book.) —my shrimp were perfectly tender, but the grease was old. The flavor and scent overpowered the natural flavor of the shrimp. I had to bury it in catchup and hot sauce, unfortunately. —I asked for the outside to be crispier, but they fried it the way they wanted it, and not how I asked for it to be. —the fish is like the size of chicken tenders. They are more like catfish pieces vs. catfish filets. —the hushpuppies were mid. I’ve definitely had better out of a frozen bag. They should find a different brand. —fries are standard. If they added something on top, it would be so much better. A little Tony’s would be perfect.
It was okay, and I probably won’t return, but I can understand why people are often lined up outside, especially if they don’t know of better...
