Heladas Ice House — Restaurant in Houston

Will never go back to this place. I pre-paid 3 buckets one night, was given 3 sales tickets, one for each bucket, did not use tickets on that night. I went back 4 weeks later and the tickets were not honored. The owner, Henry flat out refused to honor the tickets nor offer to return my money, stating the accounting books were closed for the month of February. Basically, I was robbed. In my opinion this matter was very poorly handled, and believe me, I will let everyone I know, why I will never return… This place has lost my business and that of my closest friends… My friends and I easily have drink tabs totaling a lot more than the cost of 3 buckets. The place is great to hangout and enjoy your time however working here is nightmare. I had a family emergency and they kept all of my tips. Mind you, I was never once told anything about them keeping my hard earned money and they don’t pay fairly either. I almost lost a family member and because of it they kept all of my money. Plus, they don’t appreciate anything as far as bringing them business. I’ll be sure to let all of my friends know how sorry this place is to there hard workers. I'd seen and heard reviews from this place. Thought it would be cool for my daughter and I to go for drinks and hang out. We went on a Friday, it was after 8:30 and aside from us 2, there was literally only a handful of people.. staff is very friendly the music and I'm sure the vibe would eventually get the place popping.
