Ole Hickory Bar-B-Q — Restaurant in Hoxie

I'm rating this place at a two because the service is horrible. No greeting when we went in, we waited ten minutes for her to even come to our table and let me make one thing clear, we was sitting at the booth at the end where they have to go in and out from behind the counter so she saw us. We finally got tea and she asked if we was ready to order and I said yes and she walked off. I kinda made a grunt like what was that all about so she came back and took our order. It literally took 25 minutes to get our food. We ordered eggs, sausage, toast and a pancake. Nothing should have took that long but the worst part was she never came back to the table to refill our tea or ask how it was or if we needed anything. My friend drank all her tea and because she didn't get a refill she just had to stop eating. When I paid out she still didn't ask if everything was ok or anything. I use to eat here a lot but the service is getting worse ever time I go and it's getting longer of a wait to get your food so I wouldn't recommend going here if you expect good service in a decent amount of time. For the past couple of months my Family and I have been coming here twice each month usually on the first part and midway through. My first visit to the location was met with hospitality that you rarely see in a place like this anymore. I loved the down home feeling when you walk through the door and get met with smiles and warm greetings. The food is fantastic and the portions are excellent. Because of the friendliness and the excellent food along with the good pricing table for the portion amount I highly recommend Ole Hickory. The only complaint I've had was on one visit I ordered the chicken. While it was a whole side of the chicken the meat was extremely dry and required more to drink to help wash it down. Some ask me why I didn't complain about the food and have it replaced, well here's the thing; an establishment as such doesn't make the most on profits and I, as somewhat poor, don't like wasting food. Well this is what I think the manager disgrimate against people. U hire someone they tell u they are slow a learning disabled, then no training, employees talking bad about you cause you can't run a bussiness something is really wrong. Excuse me but there are people out there that have a handicap it's called Slow Learning!
