I have been to the New Manhattan at least 10 times. The problem is, sometimes you get a good meal with pretty good service and other times the food is not so good and the service is awful. Last Friday night we had a birthday party for my brother. There was no logic to the way the waitress took our orders. I was there for at least an hour and a half before my bowl of wedding soup arrived. When it did, I only got a half bowl of lukewarm soup. There were three 3 year-olds with us. The three-year-old at our table ordered at least 30 minutes before the twin three-year-olds did but they got their order first. I have pictures of the three kids eating two meals because the littlest one had no food. My sister got french fries that were hot and tasty. My husband got fries that were limp and cold. We all ordered together. We have always known that if you want to drink at the New Manhattan it’s probably easier to go right up to the bar and order it. It worked pretty good the first time. The next time the owner of the bar was there but he was too busy talking to some people and we had to wait at least 10 minutes until somebody came from the back and waited on us. I went to the other side of the restaurant to visit with people I knew. They had a different waitress. They ordered and the food was brought almost immediately. It was excellent. So I don’t know whether the review of the food would have been better had we had a different waitress. So, if you go to the New Manhattan sometimes you’ll be lucky and get outstanding food and other...
Read moreFirst time there. Parking was average. Typical bar with food when you walk in. I found the booth seating incredibly comfortable. I'd have liked more options on parts of the menu, but again, a bar/restaurantso its just fine. I did like that the sandwiches were a little different than I am used to seeing. I got a french dip and my friend got a wedding soup sandwich. Both with fries but wow it was good! And the fries...yes please! They were amazing! My sandwich was actually thick cut roast beef. Portions were decent enough to have to take some home. Oh, and reheated...both sandwich and fries were still good ( i did use toaster oven/air fryer though). Service. Service was great. Like really really great. Not pushy, yet very helpful. Knew menu. Tended to patrons with balance. Service is usually the biggest factor for me if going back, and I'll be back. My friend I was with was right...
Read moreWas the 3rd table at dinner time (place was dead) 4 people at the bar. Western Burger: bun was a regular ol bun, onion ring was a typical out of the freezer but deep fried PERFECTLY, bacon was nothing special but cooked very well, patty was cooked unevenly (looked & tasted like a preformed freezer patty) BBQ sauce was plentyful but tasted like store bought, way too thick while being on a hot burger, slice of cheese. Fries are what killed it, fresh cut but barely warmer than room temp & so over salten I couldn't eat them. If I would have been checked on I would have brought it up but the 4 employees on the floor were busy talking at the bar or dancing while she was Wiping tables with a towel that left lint that glistened in the sunlight. Bathroom was average gross Hubbard bar. The chickens in the parking lot was definitely the highlight...
