Good selection but way too expensive! Go to Pizza Man in White Bear Lake, family business with hard ice cream and good prices. They actually give you too much ice cream. Booms could take note and if they are around next year maybe even learn from them. As of now this is a one time visit.

Read moreFound an awesome new ice cream shop tonight here in the north metro - Booms Ice Cream in Hugo. I believe it opened last year. Very fresh and creamy with a massive selection. Staffed by two very friendly and quick teen employees who filled our bowls and cups (malt) with huge scoops. Reminds me of the ice cream we had growing up in St Paul or at that place in Stillwater but without the drive or (at least until everyone else finds it) the lines. Sure, it might be more expensive than other places that sell hard ice cream, but A) this is about as local of a company with locally sourced product as you can get. B) flavor and quality is through the roof. C) you will not get chinced on quantity. See my pic of my two-flavor cone. This is TWO SCOOPS. My wife got one scoop and it was nearly as big.
