The River Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Hugo

I wanted to thank the River Bar and Grill (Grant Okla.) for having such caring servers. Mariah was our server today and I had a special circumstance. I had tooth surgery two weeks ago and was still eating only soft type food. We explained this to Mariah at the being of the meal and she was so caring. She even helped me select something that I could chew. She made for sure that the broccoli I had was steamed to where it was super soft. I had the pot roast sandwich and mashed potatoes and broccoli. It was very tasty. Mariah came by a couple of times while checking our drinks for refills and asked if I was able to chew everything ok. That meant the world to me. Until you have had a dry socket after a tooth extraction you just do not know. Finding service such as this these days is fairly rare. We will be definitely be back to the River next visit to the Grant Casino Oklahoma. I really hope she is working that day. All of the servers had the since of urgency to make every ones visit to the restaurant a pleasant one. I've eaten at this place twice. First time about a month ago. I had the ribeye steak and sides. Everything was good. Last night was a horrible experience. Ordered the ribeye steak almost an hour to close. They assumed it was to go so I went to eat it while I was playing. The first major problem is that the styrofoam they use had holes in it burned from the steak. It literally burned my tongue and had that burnt toxic taste so I didn't even eat the steak. If you don't know what I'm talking about try eating food that was hot and melted styrofoam. It makes you sick, chemical burns and gives you a headache. I just ate the sides that were packaged separately. I didn't even relaize that until I saw all the juice on the slot machine and realized that my steak had been sliding all over a nasty game machine (big sized hole in the to go box). I just ate the vegetables and threw the steak away. Took almost half an hour for the wait and I don't do remade food, especially near closing time. So I just trashed it and went out and got a pizza elsewhere. Bad experience from my second visit. Choctaw needs...

After a long day of driving, we stayed overnight at the Grant, OK. Choctaw Casino and were starving. We decided to give The River Bar and Grill a try, despite some of the negative reviews we read. Let me tell you... SO happy we ignored those reviews because we had the best service from Janet! Her excellent service and the food was beyond 5-stars! You have to try the pot roast grilled cheese... OMG.
