For the first time in my postings I was so enthralled with the place, I forgot to take food photos. 🙄 so, this incredible place is in another small town, Humboldt, Kansas. We're here for my moms reunion with her FIRST kindergarten class 1955 and 1956. Yes, true and amazing. This is where she taught fresh out of Neosho Community College (age 20). We enter and the place is busy! Such a cute and fun place! We have the room reserved off of the restaurant and it's HUGE and airy with a tin ceiling and cool ass safe in the wall that was painted to look real. This place used to be a jewelry store (hence the safe). The service is en pointe. We were 25 in number but our 1 server did just fine. I had a black peach iced tea and it was served with crushed (!) ice and so delicious! My grilled chicken sandwich on their homemade bun was insane. For once, the grilled chicken wasn't dry or difficult to chew. It blended beautifully with the cheese, spinach and sauce. Again, my apologies for no food photos as the place had me mesmerized. I did take home the cinnamon roll and will add a photo tomorrow. So far, everything is 5 star: service, food, atmosphere AND THEN I WALK INTO THE BAR. 🤯😳 it's easily the most beautiful bar I've seen in a long time. Think speak easy. Think luxurious, sexy, decadent and whisper saucy. Gorgeous semi circle banquettes, drop sphere lighting over a wood bar. JUST BREATHTAKING. And friends! It doesn't stop. Keep walking to the back and look at the BATHROOMS! I'm a fool for bathrooms and the ladies room does NOT disappoint. Look at the entrance to the ladies room! The door! The door handle! The rotary phone on the wall! And then you enter...SIGH. it's narrow and has 2 stalls with floor to ceiling doors (love this). Across from the stalls is an absolutely lovely 2 sink vanity with cool faucets and sinks. Upscale soap, lotion and paper towels are waiting for your use. AND! There are freshners in each stall! WINNING with these bathrooms and speak easy bar. My sister and I have already discussed coming back and staying the night. The food! The ambience! This place is the whole package. Thank you to Sarah who made our whole experience a 10+. Bee 🐝 on your way here soon! A BIG payback for a small amount!!!
UPDATE! the cinnamon roll I brought home was DIVINE. Very dense but my fork cut right through! It's PURPLE! no idea why but it's a feast for the eyes and mouth! It's topped with a sweet glaze and coconut! That's a surprise and the coconut doesn't overwhelm the sweetness....
Read moreThis was mine and my wife's first time here. We didn't know they didn't serve their menu on Sundays but had heard good things about this place so we decided to go. We walked in and weren't greeted by anyone. There were no signs to make it clear you seat yourself. So, I walked up the bar area where a woman, who I assume was the owner, said "sit anywhere". We sat down, and waited for someone to bring us drinks or a menu or anything; that never happened. So, I got up and walked up to the bar again to ask if we'd have a server. The person I assumed was the owner said that someone would be by shortly to bring us water and take our drink order. The water came but the person to take our drink order never came. The food was buffet style in warmers like you'd see at a hotel; the quality of the food was about the same. It wasn't terrible by any means but nothing to write home about. My niece didn't find much she wanted and only had two sausage links and some strawberry slices. When I went to pay the girl asked how everything was, and I told her about our experience and that we were never served drinks. She apologized and then went to charge me for four buffets; there were only three of us. I corrected her and told her my niece didn't really eat anything so I didn't know if she would want to charge for her; she did anyway. The total came to a whopping $52.68 for the three of us to experience a hotel style buffet with no service or warmth of invitation at all. I do not think I...
Read moreOur family had a fabulous weekend in Humboldt and Honey Bee Bruncherie was so good… we had it twice!
The atmosphere, quality and freshness of food, service, and originality of recipes are all top notch. Dishes range from $10-15 per entree for FRESH food and HUGE portions. That’s very fair for a high quality meal. We live in the city and would be challenged to find a better breakfast.
The manager Sarah was attentive, friendly, and was sure to greet every group who entered. All of our servers did a great job staying on top of drinks and checking in.
Design lovers will appreciate the detailing that went into the building renovation. I immediately recognized the terrazzo counters and was super impressed with the detailing.
For entrees, our family had the breakfast bowl: a bowl filled with the most perfect roasted potatoes, scrambled eggs, bacon, fresh tomatoes and smothered in queso. Delicious! Our daughter had the Saturday Morning Cartoons: Captain Crunch pancakes drizzled with all the fixings but with the unexpected additions of sweetened condensed milk and crumbled pop tarts.
I observed several other dishes pass by and all appear of high quality, fresh, and...
