Parlor Doughnuts — Restaurant in Huntertown

Let me start off by saying I come here several times a week for their acai bowl. There are a lot of times it’s not available and there are a lot of times they don’t have everything to make it. I can’t eat the cacao because I have GERD. No one should be eating raw chia seeds that haven’t been soaked so I don’t get those either. My esophagus is sensitive because of the GERD, so I don’t get the granola either. There’s been a couple of times I’ve ordered it online just to get there and be told they don’t have strawberries or they don’t have bananas. I’m already paying full price for something that I’m taking the majority of the toppings off of so I don’t want to pay full price for just some açaí with coconut on top when they run out of fruit. They’ve offered refunds and I’ve accepted, just to never actually receive the refund. That happened twice. So today I turned down the refund as well when they screwed up my order yet again. When we got there they let us know they were out of strawberries, no big deal. We proceed to wait at the drive through for 15 minutes even though it was supposed to be ready when we got there. When we get the bowls, they have cacao on them, so we go back to have it fixed. Well now they’re out of bananas as well, so if they remake it, it won’t have bananas or strawberries. They ask if we want a refund so we told them no because we never receive a refund when they say they will give one. We ended up just taking the bowls that were made with the cacao and trying to dig it all out. Not a good experience at all! The doughnuts we ordered for our kids also looked...

HOWEVER, I would give them 5 stars anyways, and here's a couple reasons why:

I came here on opening day and I've come to this location probably a half dozen times since. Their donuts NEVER disappoint! In fact, everywhere else I go, I'm disappointed their donuts are not like Parlor. In my opinion, it has EVERYTHING to do with their donut base. It's larger than your typical donut, but it's not about the size of the donut. It's all about how flaky, crispy, and airy the donut is. Yeah, their toppings are delicious too, but on top of that donut? chef's kiss My favs: Raspberry Pistachio, Blueberry Hill, French Toast, Bourbon Caramel. The pictured donut is their Maple Bacon.

Consequently, this has become my GO-TO place to take people for donuts when they come to Fort Wayne. I know they'll love the donuts, the store's ambiance is great, and the service is excellent! Whenever I've ordered a donut they don't have ready, they'll make it right then and it'll be ready in minutes. Furthermore, I don't even drink coffee, but my wife does, and she assures me the coffee is excellent! In fact, they actually started off as a coffee shop before they added donuts, so if that tells you anything... trust me, they know their coffee too.

This was the worst experience I have ever had happen…. I waited in line for 10 minutes. It was a pretty long line. This was this morning not even 30 minutes ago. I’m waiting in line patiently, not saying anything to anybody. I wait to get a menu which is right next to the counter so when you’re next in line, grab a menu so you can know the prices because they are not mounted anywhere…. I get up to the counter they are helping those before me but this lady with 3 children, one of them keep inching up to the counter and coughing and touching things… the girl behind the counter instantly skips over me and helps them out when I was next. I’m not hard to miss I’m 6’6!!! So I didn’t say anything but I just walked out and said forget it! I won’t be back!!
