George's Mexican Food — Restaurant in Huntington Beach

I have to leave a bad review, not because of the food, but the service. The last few times we have been there, the woman who took our order was very rude. We asked for a specific amount of salsa, she said okay and then when we got home it was half the amount we asked for. She did it again another time, but we checked before we drove away and when we asked her for more she said they can only give a limited amount of salsa! I’m sorry but no Mexican food place should ever limit their salsa, that’s just ridiculous! We are even willing to get charged a little extra for salsa so that we get what we want but this woman just lies to you so you expect to get what you’re asked for and rather than just being upfront about their new policy! Lastly, their red salsa comes in a tiny container and they are rarely filled more...

Just went there today thinking it’ll be good cuz of these reviews on here. Boy was I disappointed 😞 seeing the prices I figured portions will be small but that was okay with me, was just expecting it to be good. My pork burrito (didn’t want beans on it) had nothing in it but pork and green sauce. Pork tasted unseasoned. Just plainly boiled. Carna asada was super chewy and not the best either. Tacos had boiled chicken, unseasoned it seems like 😳 but don’t let me get started on the “quesadilla” that resembled a burrito more than a quesadilla. After being a loyal customer of 25+ years I'm officially going to stop spending my money here. The employees are great and most of them have been there forever, but the owner is going ruin this once great restaurant.

The fact you can't get a reasonable amount of salsa for a burrito without paying extra is absolutely appalling, a total deal breaker.

It used to be crowded all the time but since the removal of the salsa bar it's hardly ever busy. The owner needs to bring back the things that put George's on the map like the salsa bar and take the masks off the employees so customers can interact with human faces again.
