ok, so I've been always intrigue about Mexican food in the suburbs because I know Chicago is where the real authentic cuisine are. I have tried 5 quick in and out Mexican take out thus far and was not quite happy, especially with the taste. This place was a bit further but I must say, theirs was quite a surprised. I walked in, nothing fancy, nothing that really stands out and for me to say wow! So I was sketchy. Noticed the guy behind the grill wasn't really cooking, but more like already preparing orders that were already cooked. I tried a bit of something: quiesdilla, different meat tacos, and my fav. steak burrito. Well, to my surprised, they are thus far the tastiest...not too salty like most joints and meat was not bad....not overdone and no extras. I could've given another star and half had they just make the stuff (cook to order for more freshness) like Burrito King! And if they can make their sauces spicier, the red and green sauce really tasted the same...can't tell the difference other than color. At least you are better than 3 other Mexican fast-food takeouts ...in my book. Also, don't charge extra for add ons...that's a sure way to lose a lot of customers when you nickel and dime someone for...
Read moreI went here yesterday. my husband and. I were excited to get Mexican food after a long day I got 1 nachos steak that’s was only cheese and meat (that’s how my husband wanted it) the chips were stale I got flautas dinner of chicken and let me just say it was burned also the beans and rice just not good Which I didn’t even eat and threw away . We ordered 2 al pastor tacos. Never had I have a bad one until now and I ate half and threw it away when I went in I seen a sign of tamales so I ordered them while I waited they were warm but flavor less no seasoning at all on mass and meat so bland I can say the worst tamales. I’ve ever had ! And they were 3 tamales for 9$ that’s insane ! I gave it the benefit of the doubt but I can honestly say I will never go there again . So 1 steak nachos that the platter was half full the one side was full not the whole platter of the to go container, 2 tacos, 1 flauta chicken dinner and 3 tamales for 48$ too expensive just for that !
And. Here was my red flag, o didn’t see any Hispanics eating there. If you don’t see anyone from that ethnicity of the food you’re eating it’ can’t be good !
Don’t waste...
Read moreI was very excited to try this place especially after reading all the reviews. The food was just very very bland and just blahh. Steak on the tacos was chewy and overcooked, tortillas were bland and super pale. The whole meal just lacked flavor. Horchata was horrible and to top it offf the salsas that came with the meal were weird and watery. I know their prices are reasonable but i would rather pay a few more bucks for better food. If you are used to delicious taco joints all over Chicago well this is not one of them. There are many other local options (more expensive) that are much much better. Very disappointed since this is the closest taco place to our home. They need to get a better selection of salsa, better meat, and definitely put some more color on the plate because the whole thing...
