I’m really disappointed to have to write this review. I used to frequent First Lift pretty regularly. We moved to the area in October of 2021 and I was sad to leave behind a favorite, locally owned coffee shop and equally as delighted to find First Lift. I’d come with my kids, grab coffee and a treat and walk to the library or the park. However, last time I was there I brought a friend who had never been before. She met me there with her two small kids and we were enjoying some treats in the lounge area before heading to the library. We were keeping a close on the kids, as we always do, making sure they knew not to touch any of the nice decor. A woman sitting there who apparently worked there decided to tell my friend “Be careful with your kids. If they break anything, they won’t be welcome here.” Word for word. I approached her and asked her to explain and she then told me that we were giving the impression that we had no control of our kids and therefore no respect for the facility. I was shocked. I always tip, I like bringing new people there, and it was becoming a favorite little outing of mine with my kids, but I’ve rarely been so shocked or offended. I very much respect the store and would never allow my kids to disrespect it intentionally. Unfortunately, what appears to be a locally owned, family friend coffee shop (attached to a hotel that I assume kids stay at as well??) is just a place to have antiques on display. Their priorities seem a bit out of place. I will no longer be giving my...

The breakfast sandwhich also came out much tastier than anticipated, and I can certainly recommend it, if you are ready to cough up nearly 40 for two large drinks and two meals.
The atmosphere is quaint and very intimate, with no conversation being private, you can get a little sense of community as if picking up your morning brew from your favorite downtown espresso shop.
All in all, it's a bit pricey for what you're getting, but that's a necessity in a tourist town. First Lift packs in all the modern ammenities you'd expect from a resort, but all at the bottom of the hill. I'll certainly...
Read moreIf you are in Huntsville and you love coffee, you should visit this great shop. I ran three and a half miles to get my cappuccino this morning, so I would have been fine with an okay roast since this is the only cafe around. I was pleasantly surprised when I was met with a decent cappuccino. The reason First Lift gets a 5 star is because of its ambiance. It has a bit of indoor seating with a cute shop and a truly lovely outdoor area that allowed for a beautiful start to my day. Definitely go here, you will not be...
