Los Tres Amigos — Restaurant in Huntsville

I’ve never been to Mexico and I’ve never lived in the Southwest so I’m not claiming to be an expert on Mexican food but I believe this to be truly authentic Mexican food. Why do I say that? Because when I ate there this past week, I was the only gringo in the place. There were probably ten Mexicans dining with me and the employees were all Mexican. Additionally, the menu was full of items I’ve never heard of so I’m assuming this restaurant is geared towards clientele that wants the real thing. I had the chimichanga plate and it was amazing. If you’re one of those diners who love restaurant décor and a bubbly, talkative wait staff, this restaurant isn’t for you. But, if you want a delicious meal for a great price, give this restaurant a try; I’m certain you’ll enjoy it. This is now my "go-to" Mexican restaurant in Huntsville. All I got was a couple of tacos (carne asada) but they were good. They're small though, but for $1.25 ea you can order more. The lady brought it to our table with bottles of fresh red and green salsa which were good. We were the only customers there until we were leaving when a couple more came in, on a Saturday afternoon. They had food prepared and on standby in the serving counter. I noticed soup with chicken, corn on the cob, carrots etc. I also saw asado, molè, charros, menudo, pazolé and several other items. There was hand dipped ice cream too, not sure if it was home made, I didnt ask. I did notice the health score was 85 but it was posted away from the counter (although in plain site) and I couldn't see the violations. I will go back...

False advertising with a sign that reads "Mexican & Chinese" which I thought was odd. Not the best street style tacos I've had, but certainly not the worst. It's hard to find them without any fat, this place included.

It was kinda funny that the person at the counter didn't know what drink flavors they had in the cooler when we were looking right at it. Lol

The main take away for me was, oddly enough, those little fake tattoo machines. The lady at the counter was nice enough to exchange some quarters for me.

All in all, not a bad place to eat, if given the choice I'd probably...
