Asia Express — Restaurant in Huron Charter Township

I think people are were to generous with their reviews here. In me and my families opinion the food was not edible. Oil tasted old 9n all our dinners, we had huge pieces of chicken chicken which caused the chicken to have funky taste and ultimately we couldn't even get full because of the funky after taste it left in our mouths. I drove there because we just can't find good chinese anywhere around our house. I read reviews and it was 4.6. Not again. I do have to say our family are foodies and we have had the best chinese before and cant find that anymore. The place we went to has declined so bad that we keep searching. I feel like throwing up after eating few bites. Rice was dry and chicken was gamey. Yuck. I feel bad saying this because I know it's a mom and Pop shop but I honestly cannot say the general chicken and sweet and sour was not good. The batter on the chicken was not what we're used to and also tasted weird and off. Maybe change the oil but still doesn't help the game bites. my grandma went here to get herself and I some food, she tried informing the lady that owns the business that I have a shellfish allergy just to ask if she was able to prepare my order away from any shellfish and I could hear her over the phone telling my grandmother to go somewhere else because she runs a small business herself, and prepares everything together. This is completely understandable, but to tell her to go somewhere else was unprofessional and just plain rude.. especially when my grandmother would’ve just proceeded to order food for herself and pick me up something from somewhere else. Instead she just did what the owner said to do. Have lived around the corner from this place for years, stopped in the for the first time today and I am blown away! I am very picky about the type of chicken used in Chinese food, I cannot stand when chinese takeout places use dark/grey grizzle filled mystery meat... Asia Express has broken the mold and are using ALL WHITE MEAT in their General Tso Chicken, it's phenomenal! Sauce is great, balance of breading to protein is just right, and chicken is tender, highly recommend.
