Completely ridiculous. Called and ordered 1 large pizza with 1 topping & 1 breadsticks. Very simple order. I Was told it would be about 45 mins. Thats totally fine.. However, as 2 hours pass by, I finally called back, wondering if maybe they just forgot about me. I Spoke to a lady, & she wouldnt let me get a word in edge wise. I then ask to speak to the manager, who actually ended up being the man to take my order. & Tells me that the reason it has taken so long is because of the trains in New Boston & because the bridge is down. For one, I live right by train tracks. & I hear it almost everytime it passes thru. Not a single train passed thru within the last 5 hrs, let alone during the time of me ordering & it being delivered.. & also, the bridge that is "closed down" was only closed for a weekend, which was a few weeks ago. & that isnt even between my house & Toarmina's anyway.. Excuse after Excuse. & Lie after lie. Is def NOT a good first impression. I understand things happen. But, MAKE IT RIGHT! After alls said & done, the manager tells me, my pizza just came out of the oven an they are on their way.. I got my pizza & it was luke warm.. nearly cold.. But, def NOT hot at all. & the cheese was kind of rubbery an chunky as if its just been sitting around. So not only did I wait over 2 hrs with 2 hungry kids & had other family visiting from far. It was damn near cold too.. The ONLY positive side to this entire thing is, there breadsticks are actually REALLY good. But, as this is my first time ordering, & having to wait that long.. I dont think Ill ever be ordering from here again. I dont care how good there breadaticks are. I ordered a little before 630pm. & Got my food a little after 830pm.. Completely...
Read moreSo about six months ago I left a five-star review for one of my all-time favorite pizza joints. I have to edit this review now, but I feel like I need to preface this by saying that this really hits me in the heart. I’m sad I have to do this because the people who work there are typically pleasant and wonderful humans. I’ve been a Toarmina’s guy for most of my adult life. Owners: if you feel like I’m telling some truths here, please take this criticism as constructive and maybe re-examine some common practices.
The pizza has gone way downhill; like WAY downhill. I’m not talking one specific pie here. The thin crust is a greasy, floppy mess. The regular pizza is doughy and undercooked. The “extra” cheese barely covers a slice. And maybe this is a personal thing, but the flavored crust is wholly unnoticeable. Also, just a minor gripe, but the pies are never sliced all the way. I have to bring these things home and cut them myself. Really, your only saving grace is that giant, 24-inch bad boy…but even that has gone sub-par. I don’t know what specifically has changed, but it just isn’t working. You have to know when you see these things that you wouldn’t be thrilled about eating them yourself, and the fix really could be as simple as that. Take a look while you’re cutting only 75% of the pie; does it look like a good pizza? If it doesn’t, consider the hit to your reputation every time one of these goes out your door.
Again: great people. You guys are not just a staple pizza joint in the area, you’re one of the staple DINNER spots in the area. I hope this helps motivate you to get...
Read moreOnline - could not find how to order "pickup", so wanted to charge $4.00 Online came out to $35.78 w/ delivery, wo $31.78 for the order. When I picked up, the exact same order came out to $32.47, which was $31.52, but a $0.95 "Surcharge"! Not sure what that was for except for a tip! The same pizza from our favorite commercial pizza place is only $24.76, so significantly less and significantly better and tasting in our opinion. The sauce was not acidic, like Benitos (horrible), but just not very good and tomato paste plus! There was little rise to the pizza and more like a NY style, but we prefer a hugh 1" rise, so that was a fail. The pizza was hot and best thing about this is the cheese which has a lot of flavor, but also very gooy and melted together without a real definitive area, so needed to be recut when got home, else would have been all over the place. Based on the above, will not be ordering again and giving it a low rating. Recommendation is to improve on the above....price competitiveness, higher rise to the dough, better sauce, and not so...
