Pepe's Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Hyde Park Township

It is all about whose cooking the food with this restaurant chain. I have been several locations with this chain some ok, some not so great and others, like here on Exchange is considered one of the best!!! My family and I have been going to this location since 1974. The menu has grown over the years and they have no problem adding items to satisfy all palates.....they offer some meals in vegetarian style. For years, I would order most dinners in beef, but within in the last 10 years or so, I have ordered my dinners with chicken. This location has a choice of flour, and corn tortilla - other locations only have corn tortillas. I suggest everyone to try the chicken flautas, tortas and chicken tamales dinners.....THE BEST!!! The one thing about Pepe's on Exchange the food - since 1974 has always been consistent and fresh. No problems with the customer service and have never waited no more than 20 minutes for a meal. They now have coupons for customers ......this place will always be number 1 to me in fast...

The male manager is super rude and unpredictable. Perhaps the language barrier contributes to this. After spending $60 on my order & having it made wrong, I will never spend money here again. The way he handles customer service issues is unacceptable. Customer service goes a long way. From the receptionist who answered the phone, took my order, and agreed to replace it due to Her mistake. She laughed as if it were a tiny mistake, but messing up a customer’s order and not fixing it it unacceptable. I DO NOT RECOMMEND...

They tacos decent but I’ve never in my life seen a Mexican restaurant charge people for hot sauce, it’s comes with food. Even if they doing like $2 taco days. They so bogus in my eyes for charging their customers for hot sauce. Also bad customer service. Wasn’t like that before & I hope they make some changes because a business that ruins like that doesn’t last decades. The lady also is the only one that gives you the exact amount of hot sauce you buy, everyone else will add a extra one or two sauces. Just...
