Black Rock Coffee Bar — Restaurant in Idaho

I have been fantasizing about the pumpkin spiced Chai latte I got last week from the Broadway Black Rock. I had to stop into the Ustick location to get another one today. I'm hooked!

I decided to head in and see what the vibe was like. It's a pretty chill venue. It's a smaller joint. They have quite a few tables to hang at inside. Awesome outside seating as well. The main wall was very colorful and bold! I appreciate that everything else about the joint was simple. The simple decor on the merch shelf. The simple tables and chairs. The main thing that caught my eye was the pretty light fixture. I love unique lighting. Everything flowed nicely together!

I was instantly greeted by a cute barista behind the counter. She let me check out the drink menu for a bit. I went there for a pumpkin spiced Chai and as fun as it sounded to try something different, I stuck with my original plan.

It was later in the afternoon so it was pretty chill. My drink was made pretty quickly. I grabbed a table to sip on it for a bit. Boy was it good! It tasted just like the one I had last week. It was sweet and spicy in spices. I really like the almond milk that they use. It's so creamy and rich. It's the perfect drink for us fall loving folks!

I really like this place, and I enjoy the coffee most of the time. However, it’s frustrating that they don’t keep a menu or record of their past seasonal drinks. Half the time I order an old favorite, it’s no problem—other times, the staff has no idea what I’m talking about, especially if they’re new.

It would make a huge difference if they kept a simple archive or reference list for past drinks. Until then, it’s pretty annoying having to explain the ingredients of something they used to serve.

Also, I have to mention the burritos—unfortunately, they’re awful. They’re expensive, and the one I tried was so bad I literally threw half of it away. I wouldn’t recommend the food based on that experience.

Very poor customer service with one of the baristas that was preparing our drinks. My coworker and I went in and ordered a bulk order for everyone at our office and we were super friendly and were in no rush! We saw that the drive thru was busy as well as the staff so we sat down patiently and waited. After a couple of drinks were prepared we even offered to help put them in the drink carriers and assist with putting drink stoppers on. The barista spilled all the stoppers on the table that wasn’t cleaned and sanitary. Then, as she was preparing more drinks she finished a box of milk and threw it towards the trash so furious that she missed and it hit me and landed outside into the lobby where other customers saw what she did!
