Now let's not forget the main attraction to this whole shindig .... THE SERVICE ! while I have had great active attentive service at places before this one took the bakery with how thoughtful how well mannered how consistently consideredate it all was Chelsea and Jordan are by far down of the best host and servers I have came across. Bubbly and cute ready to help and give a laugh :) not once did I get the feeling they didn't want to be there and they were genuinely happy to make the customers experience some of the best the had in their day . Celebrating my sister's 21st birthday they did a treat and sang to her with a fun little sea shanty birthday and that was so much fun and Chelsea was sweet enough to remind us to take a picture before she cleaned up the setting. This place with everything combined is something wonderful , absolutely a place that needs your visit as you may just fall in love and make it a permanent must stop every chance you get . Read moreVisiting Burley, my husband and I were directed to The Boathouse by a woman at the front desk of our hotel. After taking a look at their menu online we both agreed to give it a try. It's a cozy atmosphere with all tables having some view of the Snake River. All guests are treated to a small, complimentary loaf of homemade bread. Kelsey was our waitress and she was great. Got us our drinks quickly and was patient as we, mostly me, took a few minutes to decide what to order for dinner. We ordered their mozzarella sticks as an appetizer. In my mind it's a good measuring tool for their food quality. My husband got one of their burgers with a side of potato wedges. I ordered their ahi tacos with a side of corn. The food all came in a timely manner and our drinks were never empty. We enjoyed our meal and the experience as a whole. On our way out we ran into one of the owners but didn't get his name. He was friendly and eager hear about our experience. My husband asked if any of their food was locally sourced, and while it isn't yet, he did mention that their to-go boxes came from a local vendor, as well as their potatoes. And he was going to work with local meat production companies to source their meat locally as well. He proceeded to ask us if there was anything we'd improve about our time there and I mentioned a few adjustments I would've made to my meal ( I'm a foodie at heart). He was accepting of my advice and even jokingly offered to have me come cook for them. We shook his hand and wished him well on his endeavors. Between the service, the food, and the interaction with the owner, I give them two thumbs way up. Try them out and let them impress you.

Went back to The Boathouse today for dinner. They've improved with time. I had the salmon in butter. It was some of the best cooked salmon I've ever had and I frequently order salmon from other places. The fresh berry lemonade was perfect, not too tart. The clam chowder was obviously homemade in all the best ways. You can't beat the view. It's an excellent experience...
Read moreWe were from out of town and were traveling through Burley and stopped to have what we thought was going to be a nice meal by the river. The special was pan roasted chicken, mashed potatoes, and dinner rolls for $28. My husband ordered the special and it came looking like it had been cooked to death and not pan roasted at all. The outside was crispy and the meat inside was very dry. The dinner rolls had been deep-fried and then looked like they had also been overdone in the oven as well, as the bottoms were almost black. The cook came out and asked how the meal was as it was something new they were trying and wanted feedback. When my husband asked about the chicken and told him that it was extremely dry, the cook stated that it was chicken that had been cooked already in the oven and then they put it in the fryer to crisp up the skin and reheat it. The chicken was not cooked fresh that day. The cook also stated that they did indeed take dinner rolls and put them in the fryer. My husband partially ate his dinner because we had been traveling and were famished. I spoke to the manager about the mail, hoping that they would make some kind of compensation as it was not even the meal that was advertised and it wasn’t even fresh food. The waitress and the manager both challenged me asking me how much had been eaten and not taking any responsibility for the meal and the way it was prepared and not remotely matching the description nor the price. Customer Service relating to this interaction was extremely poor. They did end up giving us half off of my husbands entree after giving us the third- degree about it. Also, we sat on the back patio deck overlooking the river, which was nice ambience, until I saw two cat bowls with cats wandering around and coming to eat out of the bowls on the deck. We were hoping for so much more as it was our last vacation meal with our friends on our...
