I recently visited The Little Nugget in Danville, Illinois, after seeing it on TikTok, and it definitely lived up to the hype! This spot offers a unique dining experience—you get to cook your own steak. While that might be risky depending on who’s at the grill, as a former chef, I was ready to shine! Also $2 off if you cook it yourself! 🙌🏾

Upon arrival, I walked into what appeared to be a bar and comedy club (possibly just a comedy club on Sundays). I opted to sit in the dining room, where the grill is located, and I’d recommend the same for anyone wanting the full experience.

They offer ribeyes in 8, 12, and 16-ounce cuts—naturally, I went for the ribeye. They also have a great selection of seasonings, which adds to the fun of customizing your steak.

Pro tip: • Season generously, then baste with butter, steak seasoning, and Montreal rub throughout the cooking process. • Let your steak rest for 6-8 minutes after grilling for the best flavor and tenderness.

The salad bar was fresh, well-stocked, and the perfect size—not overwhelming but with enough variety to stay interesting. Freshness is key for salad bars, and this one delivered.

The baked potato was fully loaded and surprisingly packed with flavor. They use both cheese sauce and shredded cheese, which was an unexpected but welcome touch.

Overall, I really enjoyed my visit. The staff was friendly, the atmosphere was fun, and I’d absolutely return if I find myself in Danville again! Great food! Great peeps! Loved the steak...

Theives and liars. My mom has been trying to contact the manager over a $7.18 charge on her card that she didn't make and we been getting the go around. Absolutely horrible. It is a principal to be honest and trustworthy.

Addition after owner response: The ordeal should have never happened in the first place. My mother called a couple hours after she left asking about her card and was informed that a card was there, but not hers. She then went out to check and was told hers wasn't there again...but she asked...yes she herself...to leave her phone number in case anything came up on it being found. Not even 10 minutes later she gets a call that it is found. With a larger charge on it than the original bill. That couldn't happen randomly. Something was added after she paid . Otherwise, it wouldn't have been on the card in the same transaction in the first place. Some staff was very helpful and pleasant. Not all. As a business owner, you might evaluate the staff that was working that area and keep an eye on the service they provide and the information given from the customers. A group of 10 (6 adults 4 kids) went last night. I called before we went to try call-ahead seating, and was told they don’t do that. I also asked what their wait was looking like, and got “I have no clue” as the answer. Weird, sure, but we’re hungry, let’s go. As we were waiting for our table to be set up, the hostess answers the phone. She said “so you have 8 coming in 45 min? Got it, we’ll have a table ready.” They have a deal where if you cook your own steak, it’s $2 off. I prefer to cook my steak anyways, so that was cool. Except that they didn’t discount it at the end! For the 2 people on my check, it was $75.00. But because, I assume, we had a large group, he went ahead and did gratuity on the check. Most places do this, and most places it’s around 10-15%, and you add on anything if they deserve it. Not Little Nugget. It was a full 20%, for a guy to bring us drinks (did not refill the empty glass until just before we left), for us to make our own salad at the salad bar, cook my own steak, which wasn’t discounted.
