I have lived in 3 different states and been to most of the rest and have eaten BBQ in every one. Me and my wife just recently moved here and have tried 1 smoke BBQ place on 57 that was good and figured we'd try this .me and my wife got there at 11:30 first there sit down got our drinks and ordered within 10 or so minutes I got the salad bar, 1 smoked pork chop and onion rings my wife got the smoked turkey mashed potatoes and gravey with cottage cheese. The salad bar was great it took around 15 minutes to get our food and I was presently surprised they were very large portions for the price the waitress gave us our food and said it's going to be funny watching your wife try to eat all that food. Well here goes my porkchop smelled like it had been smoked with pallet wood that had insecticide spray on it was so dry and awful tasting I tried to use some of there BBQ sauce and that only made me want to gag I looked over at my wife and she had the most awful face ever and I said is yours any good she shook her head in discust and ask me to try it same horrible taste as my porkchop not to mention her macaroni was unlike any we'd ever eaten awful her cottage cheese was rank un edible sour and probably very old it over all was absolutely horrible food other than the salad bar and onion rings by far worst smoked BBQ I've ever had honestly worst food I've ever paid money for but my dogs seem to like it I just hope they don't get sick...
Read moreWe must have simply gone at the wrong time of the day! We decided to try this place, for the first time. It was a Triple EEE BBQ at one time, and was said to have been good! I ordered A Rib Tips Dinner, and my better half, ordered a half rack of ribs! We had driven over from Carbondale, so we took carry out, and went back home to eat! The moment I opened the carry , I was filled with mixed emotions, and ultimately became super Disappointed 😞! We shelled out nearly 46 bucks for two meals, that didn't have any extras, there was a hint of what flavor it nearly had, (rather than the moist meat falling off the bone, that it should have had), and it was very tough! We considered giving them another shot, but on second thought, we'll seek out a different option for BBQ! They were kind folks and I supposed; that it was all, alright, until we sat down to eat, and the upheaval of the optics alone, were anything but, desirable! So, there you have it. My objective, and full intention, is to be 100% fair and honest. I do not find their BBQ, imo, worthy of being purchased, in the first place. An expensive lesson learned! I don't know what was happening that day, and I am certainly not saying that this place is bad! This review, is 100% based on my first, and only, time, patronizing thee establishment...
Read moreHas majorly gone down hill in the last year. When it was Grumpy's then shortly under new ownership, it was always worth the money. But now, absolutely avoid. All 3 people in my dinner party were terribly vomiting and diarrhea from dinner 4/13. Brisket had more fat cap than actual meat, pulled pork was dry as could be, pork steak over cooked. Baked beans were inedible, coleslaw was warmer than room temperature. Service was more than SLOW, as we were only table but we still waited more than 10 minutes between sitting, to ordering drinks, to ordering food. Even after we couldn't eat over half of each plate, they refused to listen to our criticism, and we definitely didn't think taking leftovers was worth the racoons getting sick out of my trash can. The following day, I called in to ask about refrigerator records or anyone else getting sick. Was told by management that everything was at tip top shape and to come back. As well as refused to give refund for our $64 meal ticket. Sorry, I wouldn't accept $1 million to go thru the 2 day food borne illness from there again. 0 stars Repeat 0 stars, would rather eat dead coyote a$$hole...
