Tucked deep in the heart of Big Cypress, Swamp Cafe is the perfect stop for Southern comfort food, and a true taste of the Everglades! Gators nearby, locals vibing, and Indian tacos that hit different. 🐊💚#fyp #hiddengem #backwoods #indianreservation #exploreflorida #everglades

This place is way out in the middle of nowhere - on an Indian Reservation. As we love to try out-of-the-way places, we thought we'd give Swamp Water Cafe a try. We weren't disappointed. I will start by saying I had the fish & chips and was not thrilled with the fish, which was a deep-fried, breaded cod. It's obviously a frozen patty, much like you would purchase in a supermarket. It had more of a 'minced' texture than a flaky one. It did taste good, however, and the breaded was great. The fries are awesome. My wife had fried chicken thighs and said they were great. The staff is friendly here. The place is quite large and has a homey feel to it. The chairs are padded and comfortable, and the restroom is very clean. I would definitely return to this place again. It was worth making the drive out to it.

It is located on the Seminole Indian reservation. The place used to have like a safari or many different types of animals, but not right now. The restaurant and the outdoor facility are really nice. It feels like you are on a camp or tribe. The food was good. It was our first time trying Seminole food.

We came after visiting the local museum. We ordered at the counter and the food was brought to our table. The mini coke freestyle machine was out of basically everything except sprite and root beer. I got mini corn dogs and they were kind of sweet. They have a big salad bar. My wife ordered the daily special and then we paid and then the lady came out the kitchen and said they were out and she had to pick something else. We got the fry bread and honey butter it was delicious. Really great if you sprinkled some salt on top. The restaurant itself is very nice and very large. The safari park seemed a little run down. Would have loved to have seen it...
