Detour Grill and Bar — Restaurant in Imperial Township

Usually, enjoy eating here and have a good experience, but tonight, Sunday 04/14, was the opposite of that. The food took nearly an hour to come out. As we were waiting, no one came by to check on the table. A simple "sorry the food is taking so long" or a "it will be out soon" would have gone a long way. When the food finally came out, the fries were inedible. They tasted of burnt, rancid fryer oil. That oil needed to be changed. No one at the table ate them. So, after that wait, half of the meal was inedible. What is aggravating is that the kitchen had to have known what they were serving was not right and they sent the server out to shrug off our complaint and say "that's just how they are going to come out if we remake them." We were also told only one fryer was operable that evening. If that was the case, a heads up at the door would have been nice. We probably would have gone somewhere else and had a much better experience.They comped 20 percent which was a nice gesture, but 50 percent of the meal was inedible. Overall, disappointing and any restraunt should be ashamed if they are putting out a service and product like the one from one...

This was our first time and we had a blast celebrating a 22nd birthday while singing karaoke! The food and staff were amazing! Best part, they made my 16yr old feel welcomed and "grown" by allowing her to come in, sing, and celebrate with her big sister. (With a Shirley Temple of course!!!) That really meant a lot to me, and the girls, because most other bars with karaoke don't allow minors after 10p, which I completely understand, but Detour made a special night an EXTRA special night for all of us.

On top of their hospitality, it's very well maintained/cleaned. Even at the end of the night the bathroom was very clean, especially for a bar with a decent crowd!

There's several seating options: restaurant side, where you can have a normal dinner conversation but still enjoy the singing; bar side, where you can be "up close and personal" with the singing; a 3 seasons type space; and patio seating! Literally, something for everyone!! Our party of 15 sat in the bar area as close to the action as possible. 🥳

OH!! One last takeaway: Try the Spinach...

This is a local/family owned bar and grill. I recently lost my mom and her wishes were for my sister and I to throw a celebration of life somewhere besides a funeral home where we could drink, enjoy company and truly celebrate her life. They accommodate our large group of family and friends with the patio rental and allowing us to flood into the bar area (we took over half the bar area) since at the peak of the visitation we had 200 or more people there to pay their respects and share stories with my sister and I and the bartender and serving staff kept up with all the drink orders and any special food orders without any issues. Amazing food was served in the patio area that we had preordered with the rental and of course outstanding service as always in the patio area as well and all VERY adorable! Everyone of our family members and friends loved it and all said it’s just what our mom would of wanted. Thank you Bill and Terry for your hospitality and to all your amazing staff who made our moms days just as we imagined and allowed us to just set up and then enjoy being around all those who loved our mom that day and you all...
