Star Cafe — Restaurant in Imperial Township

It's great to have a local coffee shop near where I live instead of having to drive all the way to St. Louis County or STL, or having to settle for the ol' Starbucks. This place is new, and you can tell, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. They've got good size options for their drinks, smoothies, and other beverages. If you want a small, it will actually be small! I like the taste of their coffee. I've only had hot or iced lattes since going here as well as one of their smoothies, but all were fantastic. They have a wide variety of great syrup flavor options. They do have some food options, but from what I've seen, mostly sweet things. I think they may have some breakfast items early in the morning, but I am not 100%. Interior is modern and clean. I believe they have a back patio and free wifi. The parking is minimal in front of the shop, but there are plenty more spaces down the lot of the strip. They do have a social media account on Instagram where the post drinks and food items. My husband and I love to travel around trying coffee from independently owned coffee shops. Out of all of them, Star Cafe is at the top of our list. It’s a GEM and we are beyond lucky to have a local “Mom and Pop” coffee and treats option close to home. Star Cafe is adorable and has a great location. The staff clearly enjoy their job and show that through their actions with customers. They are always helpful, kind and friendly. If you go regularly, the staff makes it a point to get to know you and what your preferences are. They offer drink ideas and swaps based on what you like. My wife and I swing by a local coffee shop every weekend and this is the place that is considered our default! Not many places in these neck of the woods that serve up local coffee!

Some things we enjoy about this place include their selection of sugar free options, they are a small local business and the young adults they hire are extremely respectful.

You can tell they were raised right and I'll support that more than anything else! I'll pay and support that any day of the week even if the coffee was subpar!

4/5 is a great score as I rarely give away a perfect 5/5 as I truly believe that there's always room for improvement.
