Holties Restaurant & Pub — Restaurant in Imperial Township

We won't be back to Holtie's... Let me start by saying that my family has always had a decent experience at Holtie's and we enjoy their food. But last night was a completely different experience. Between three of us, we ordered 36 wings, Buffalo chicken dip, chicken parm sliders, and fries. We only received two little cups of dip for all of the wings, and no celery (menu states celery is included). When we asked about celery, the waitress (who was very friendly) stated that they were out of some things but she'd check and see if they had any. She came back and said that they were out, which was kind of a bummer. After a few minutes, she came over with a little bit on a plate and said the cook had been messing with her and they actually did have some. We asked her if we could have a little more than 5 pieces, since we had 36 wings. We saw her go up to ask the cook (who was playing on his phone where the food is prepared) and he tossed some on a plate with his bare hand and said "tell them to have a lovely f**ing evening." All three of us, including our 14 year old daughter, heard it loud and clear. I informed our waitress that we all heard it and she immediately apologized and said that she would go get her manager. The manager was very apologetic and said that this was not the first time that particular cook had said that, but that the customers don't ever hear it. Well.... We did. I must say that the manager and the waitress were very friendly and apologized profusely. They offered a free dessert, which we declined. The manager did state that the owner has been told about the cook's temper and foul language but they won't do anything because it's hard to find help. Because of the cook's lack of respect towards the customers, his co-workers, and his employer, we will not be returning to Holtie's. Time to find a new...

I used to love Holtie's. They has great food, big portions, reasonable prices, and the servers were fantastic. Recently I stopped by and it was not the best experience. Once we got in we were told to just go ahead a pick a table so we chose one on the bar side. We waited almost 10 minutes before the server even came over despite there being only one other table there that was just having drinks. The server however checked on this table and checked her phone multiple times during this 10 minute period. Once she finally came over we ordered our drinks and food right away so we didn't have to wait on her again. I got my drink (water) with my food (went with the mini tacos). The person I was with ordered a mixed drink from the bar which never came. Despite being reminded about it when the server brought out their wings. Once we were done we had to go up and ask for our check because the sever never came back, she was busy talking to the other table and playing on her phone. We asked to have the drink removed since we never got it and she said that she would rather just make it right them. We told her that we really needed to go and would rather her take it off. At this point she got a bit rude but did take the drink off. I would also like to mention that the server was ill at the time of our visit. She was coughing her poor little lungs out (and not covering her mouth) so maybe this was just an isolated incident but with how she was able to joke around with the other table and be attentive to them while we received such bad service I do not...

We grew up going to Holties, and always had a great experience, but tonight a few friends and I went and when we got our food; two BBQ bacon cheese burgers, garlic cheese bread and wings; the cheese on the burger was curdled and lumpy, not your usual piece of cheese. No bbq sauce for our burgers added on them. The garlic bread was amazing! Sadly, our food was not cookrd thoroughly because when we got home, mot even an hour later one of my friends started sweating and feeling nauseous after eating all of the wings. He got food poisoning from the wings not being cooked right and ended up throwing up numerous times from it. He pretty much threw all the wings he at. As another friend was leaving, he started sweating and getting pale as well. He had also ate the wings. Don't know if there was a new cook or somebody wasn't trained right. But won't be going back for awhile. Whoever was cooking on November 24th from 6 to 8 needs more training on food prep. We usually never have a problem.
