Waking up early in the beautiful Sierra is always a pleasure! And knowing a cute mom and pops Cafe is nearby had me excited!

Me and one other friend (who visited this place by himself the day before...jerk!) Decided to catch some sun and get our Joe going!

Walking in we were immediately greeted with friendly faces! They handed us a menu and I was torn between so many options! I was hungry but I didn't want to eat to much.

On a side note I ordered a Latte to get things started!

Boy, I don't know, I had a rough and fun night prior playing the most vicious game of Monopoly until 3 in the morning so maybe that's why this Latte smacked so hard! This Latte rejuvenated me, like every sip brought me to life!

I decided to go a healthier route with food finally, not because I care about healthy but because I actually like most healthy foods naturally so I ordered a Acai Bowel.

It was just the right amount of everything I needed, the bananas were freshly cut, the oats were crunchy and the yogurt wasn't too thick.

Infact, my only draw was the yogurt eventually monopolized the whole thing... see how I brought that full circle?! But that's my fault since I walked back to our cabin to eat it instead of lounging about.

One cool lil fact I feel needs to be mentioned is this program they got going... so they have a recycling thing where if you bring your own cup you can refill on house brew coffee for a dollar! Thats a pretty rad return folks! I loved it... I didn't take advantage of it but I will when...

We were really disappointed with our experience at Pep’s Place. We placed a large sandwich order for a group and went over everything in person with the staff before leaving. After driving 30 minutes back to the house, we realized we were missing two sandwiches.

Mistakes happen—we get that. So we called to see if they could either replace the sandwiches or offer a refund, since we weren’t close by anymore. Unfortunately, the response was incredibly rude. We were told, point blank, that we had made the mistake and that they “absolutely did not” miss any items. When we mentioned the missing sandwiches, we were basically asked if we really expected a refund for our error. We double-checked the receipt, and we were definitely short two sandwiches. They were so rude we said said don’t worry about the refund, and ate the cost of their mistake.

It was uncomfortable, frustrating, and frankly, embarrassing. We had hoped to support what seemed like a nice small business, but the customer service was so dismissive and unprofessional that we wouldn’t return—and wouldn’t recommend it to others either....

Cute little cafe right across the street from where we were staying. We got breakfast here 2 days in a row...hard to believe they are not busier. We went to another spot down the road on the second day which was super busy and didnt have as many menu options, plus the line was long so we left and came back here. Pep's has really good breakfast sandwiches (english muffin, croissant and bagel sandwiches). They also have an Acai bowl, and a Chorizo burrito. I believe there were a few other breakfast items too. We had the English muffin sandwich, Acai bowl and the croissant sandwiches...all of which were very good, and good sized portions. The service was pleasant, as we were greeted by staff as soon as we walked in. Its obvious the locals come here...everyone we saw walk in seemed to know the staff. I believe they also have lunch items, and next time we are in town we will be back. Pep's is a nice little hidden gem (although it not...

Stopped in after the Tahoe Triathlon and wow, this was such a bad experience. The staff were all completely aloof. Literally no eye contact, did not respond even to salutations or thanks. Everything was just slopped together. The breakfast burrito was good but tiny. And they charged us full price ($16) for two plain bagels with cream cheese for our kiddos. You can see from the photo how much pride they put into their work… Would not recommend and won’t be returning.

Stayed overnight in town and Pep’s was such a gem to find down the street. Excellent brewed coffee and loose leaf tea, both from local companies. Friendly and warm atmosphere and service. We had the special lox bagel and a sausage egg and cheese croissant sandwich, both were hearty and delicious. Will be sure to stop in again when we’re in the area!
