Dining at Jalapeños in Clarkston, MI, is an experience that delights the senses and warms the soul. This charming Mexican restaurant offers a vibrant and inviting atmosphere, perfect for a casual meal with family or friends.
Upon entering, we were immediately greeted by the friendly staff and seated promptly. The decor is colorful and festive, creating an ambiance that transports you straight to Mexico. It's a great spot to relax and enjoy a delicious meal.
The menu at Jalapeños is extensive, featuring a wide array of traditional Mexican dishes. To start, we ordered the guacamole, which was made fresh at our table. The avocados were perfectly ripe, and the blend of spices was spot-on, making for an incredibly tasty appetizer.
For my main course, I chose the chicken enchiladas with green sauce. The enchiladas were generously filled with tender, flavorful chicken and topped with a zesty green sauce that had just the right amount of heat. The rice and beans served on the side were the perfect complement, adding a hearty and satisfying touch to the meal.
What truly stood out during our visit was the exceptional service. The waitstaff was attentive and knowledgeable, providing great recommendations and ensuring our drinks were always refilled. Despite being busy, they made us feel like valued guests, which enhanced the overall dining experience.
Jalapeños also offers a selection of refreshing beverages. I highly recommend trying one of their margaritas; they are expertly crafted and the perfect way to round out a meal.
In conclusion, Jalapeños in Clarkston is a gem for anyone craving authentic Mexican cuisine in a welcoming and lively setting. The combination of delicious food, excellent service, and a vibrant atmosphere makes it a must-visit. Whether you're a local or just passing through, make sure to stop by Jalapeños—you won't be...
Read moreLet me first say that it breaks my heart to leave this review. I was one of the first wave of customers for Jalapenos about 7-8 years ago when they'd opened. I was a huge fan. The service was great, the food was fresh and excellent, and it felt like the staff cared about the product, and I was a frequent visitor. After returning from Texas with a new family after 6 years, I was excited to show them Jalapenos to prove that Michigan Mexican food is just as good as Texas (it is, by the way).To my shock, the service was horrendously slow (drinks were late, we were sitting for 10-15 minutes before being waited on), and the food was actually cold. Not warm, but COLD. The most unbelievable part was, this happened on back-to-back visits after I swore the first time must have been a fluke. Sadly, the egg is on my face, as I must now listen to my family proclaim Texas' superior Mexican food. I really hope the manager/owners see this and makes real improvements and get BACK to how things were. There's still time to save the experience, but unfortunately we won't be back soon. It's really sad to see that the standard has fallen so low for both the food and the service. Last note - our waiter, a young man with longer hair and glasses, likes to take orders by memory. I don't think this is cute or impressive, and if anything, has actually been proven a poor system, as numerous items were forgotten on both visits. Use a notepad, be organized, and get the...
Read moreIf it would let me give 1/2 star I would. We went before a concert at DTE. Got in early as we knew it might be busy. Luckily, we were one of 3 tables. We sat down, the "waitress" came over and looked at us. didn't say a word. Just looked at us. We looked back and after an awkward couple seconds, she was like" are you gonna order something"? WE got 2 pops and 2 bottles of beer. Like I said, we were going to a concert, so the beers went fast. We were in the building for over an hour and saw our server 3 times. Never got another beer, let alone another drink. I had to share the 1 glass of pop my wife got. Food was ok, considering it was not what we ordered. 3n of th 4 of us got burritos with NO jalapenos, but all 3 had them. I ordered chicken tacos and got beef. After we got our food and noticed the mistakes, we waited a bit, 3-4 minutes, to see if the server would be by. Never came over. After we got 1/2 way through the meal she came over to see how things were. I tried to tell her that the burritos had jalapenos and I got beef not chicken, she got rude and said well we ate 1/2 of it. Like it was my fault I waited 30 minutes for my food, had ti come out wrong, waited to see my server to let her know, then gave up. No apology was offered, no discount on the bill, nothing. I will never be back to this location and recommend you take a lot of patience with you...
