This place has become an absolute mess !!! For years I was use to Pietro's great cooking at other restaurant on 46...but the food here last evening was atrocious.
Started the evening with chicken nachos...store bought chips with liquid cheese and whole sliced onions/peppers on top. Whole chunks of chicken like boneless wing size, complete mess. Next came the fried calamari and my sons cheesesteak sandwich !!! Calamari tasted very salty and had a fishy smell to it, my sons cheesesteak sandwich was served as large chunks of meat, whole sliced onions/peppers and more liquid cheese !!! If I can find any positive in wasting $75 dollars at this bar (not restaurant). my wife's calzone was just ok and edible. We sent calamari and cheesesteak sandwich back and told the non English speaking woman who charged us for tap water (yes, she charged us for "bottled" water that smelled like chlorine) and jalapenos of $4.50 (which came with nachos) ...the food was terrible and to get Peter to come see me at table. He never came out...nothing was removed from the bill but the phony charges...paid and left. Will...
Read moreMy wife made reservations for 7pm on Father's Day, and we decided to go early since the man who she spoke to said we really didn't need reservations (he did take the 7pm down). We got there a little after 6pm and the woman who sat us said she had to take our order because they were starting to clean up. So, that was weird. From the outside, this looks like a kind of nice steakhouse type place. But inside it's more pub-like, your basic tavern with a nice bar and some high top tables on one side and regular tables on the other. I had the chicken bruschetta and my wife had chicken saltambuca (?). Both were generous portions, and the sauce and pasta were good, but the chicken was kind of tough and dry for both our meals. The warm bread and butter was pretty good, but the bread was pretty dry also, maybe because it was close to closing. It's probably a better bet for the sandwiches and pub-type fare than the...
Read moreOrdered Pierogies for an appetizer. $16.95 was a bit pricey for 6 greasy pierogies with 3 pieces of fried onion served straight up on a plate with nothing to drain the grease. Then I ordered fish and chips. The fish was obviously frozen and it was fried so fast that the batter was dark and the inside soggy. There also was hardly any fish in it. I sent my meal back after 3 bites. My fiancé ordered a burger that had no flavor at all and chunks of the burger kept falling out of the bun. The only flavor was the sauce. When the check came I was charged for the fish and chips and had to remind the waitress that I didn’t eat my meal and had sent it back. This was a second visit to this place after a pretty bad first experience (but everyone deserves a second...
