I’ve been craving some good barbecue for quite a while, and I was so excited when I saw a sign for a barbecue restaurant in the area that I was traveling in I checked the reviews and the bad ones are mostly about the service. I didn’t see terrible reviews about the food so I decided to try it. They were right about the service. The cashier was talking very quietly with her gaze, her entire face, pointed at the screen in front of her. I couldn’t hear her and had to repeatedly. Ask her to speak up. The brisket sandwich sounded great so I asked her what came on it. She started talking about mayonnaise and lettuce and… I never heard of anything so crazy. So I asked for a brisket sandwich with barbecue sauce and pickles. Sounded reasonable. After waiting for almost 25 minutes for the food to come out, I figured it had to be good. I open the sandwich, and it looked very unappealing. What they put on the bread was a gelatinous blob. There was almost no meat on it, just goop. I paid $15 for the thing so I was going to taste the sandwich. I used my fork to get a little bite that did not have barbecue sauce. It was slimy and it had no flavor. Disgusting! I decided that I would try it as an actual sandwich, maybe it was better that way. The barbecue sauce was sickly sweet and it was a fight which flavor was stronger… The butter from the bun or the barbecue sauce. I could not handle taking another bite of the sandwich. So I took a bite of the potato salad. It wasn’t disgusting, but it certainly wasn’t good. Apparently they peeled and boil some potatoes… After they drain them, they may have put some pickle relish and mayonnaise along with the tiniest bit of mustard powder. No other seasoning. The meal basically went into the trash. As I drove away, I was very shocked to see some wood stacked up outside. tasted like the thing was roasted in an oven. Zero out of 10. If you know anything about the barbecue, do yourself a favor, and stay away The people in this business are extremely rude, the fruit is garbage, I was really hoping to be able to leave them a good review, but I’ve never had such gross food in my life!

Oh my gosh... what a great experience! We ate outside under the old gas station canopy in the summertime. This was our first time here and we ordered a variety of food to get a good sample of their style. Son number one got a blackened chicken sandwich that wasn't dressed as ordered... but he still enjoyed it. Son #2 is a little younger and had the kid's burger and is already asking when we can return! My daughter got the roast beef on bun and raved about the gravy. The wife's salad was full of more croutons than lettuce and a little disappointing, too bad she didn't get the brisket salad. And finally, I had the brisket burger, not the ultimate... but it was still the ultimate! Hands down.. it is my new favorite burger. We will definitely be back... and soon.

If you're on 55 now near exit 40 and feeling hungry for BBQ....STOP! We got brisket and pulled pork plates with 2 sides and toast for $9.50 each. The meat was lean, tender and smoky. The portions were very good. We bought a couple buns on the side and made a huge sandwich smothered in their house-made BBQ sauce and it was delicious! The baked beans were very good as well infused with green chilies which was a nice twist. Overall this quaint little place a few minutes off the Interstate is highly recommended!

I've been to the other location but drove out here to try the #1. Nice guy working the register, he said the brisket was their best thing which I was extremely skeptical about. Decided to give it a shot and tried 3 meat plate with brisket, ribs and pulled pork. I gotta be honest here, their brisket is trash. By far the worst thing on my plate was the brisket, with the mac and cheese a close second. Their ribs are very good though, almost good enough to redeem the brisket. Pulled pork was super dry, honestly literally anywhere else would have better pulled pork. Maybe I just caught them at a bad time, but don't recommend something to me if that's the case. They have a pretty good house BBQ sauce and baked beans. Macaroni and cheese tasted like buttered pasta, not recommended. They have orange crush on tap which is another redeeming quality. I'm not a brisket expert but I'm fairly certain they're cheating by doing a short smoke time and finishing in an oven or something. Very little pink ring showing, pretty sure they're cheating us. Anyways, I don't think I'd ever drive out here again for a 2nd chance. The ribs are good tho, sorry for the harsh review but this is BBQ and you're way too close to Texas to be calling this brisket. Bathrooms...

They only know how to cook the brisket burger well done or over done and sometimes the bacon on this burger has a freezer taste. As for the chicken or just brisket I have to ask: Where is the smokey flavor? Why is the Brisket so dry? I've eaten here multiple times for a few years because it's close to where I work and if you're in a hurry and need to go back to work there is not much else. If you want flavor go to Wayne's BBQ in Walker Louisiana. I think the owner of the BBQ Station just doesn't care about the quality of his product only because there's no competition. It's unfortunate because when it first opened the chicken was awesome and you had to order it early or they would run out but that was a different owner. Right now the sides taste better than the...
