This is really unfortunate that I feel the need to give this review as we've come to really enjoy Bisonte not just because the wings are amazing but also because they are our local go-to family owned business we enjoy supporting.
Last night(Thursday evening) my son and I decided to grab a bite before I had to leave to pick my daughter up from practice. The young girl taking our order was super personable and friendly, asking us how our evening was that I told her how how great her customer service was.
We ordered drinks, a basket of fries, my son had 2 slices of pizza, and I ordered a half a chicken parm. She put our order in and everything was correct on the receipt. We sat down and 5 minutes later the fries came out. 5 minutes after that the 2 slices of pizza came out but no sub. I figured they were still preparing it so I continued to wait patiently while talking with my son.
About 8 more minutes went by and no sub. I got up to inquire and there were about 5 HS aged kids working behind the counter. I asked where my Chicken Parm sub was and they were friendly and told me it would be 3 more minutes. I sat back down, thinking they forgot to make my sandwich. They did forget, but I was in a good mood and like this place so I waited. 10 minutes go by and now I'm getting a little annoyed. I get up and ask them if it will be out soon and please make it to go since I gotta leave to get my daughter. They say no problem.
After 5 more minutes a young kid comes out and gives me a sub in a bag- it says Meatball Parm. I walk back up, tell them for the 3rd time nicely it was to be chicken parm. Kid decides to get the manager. He comes out after talking to the kids to get the story. He finds my order, sees where they messed up and apologized. I told him I have to leave and can't wait for a sub to be made.
He did the right thing and refunded me for the sub I never got, but that was it. I wasn't expecting to get some free ride on food we ate, but an offer of say 10% off or anything at all for that wasted time making me late to get my daughter would have been appreciated.
If you order food from Bisonte and frequent it like we have, you'll know that they can get super busy and wait times can be long. Every time we've ordered to-go and been quoted 45 minutes they are usually within 10 minutes more or less of that time quoted- no big deal. I've had 2 occasions that we went to pick up to-go food, had a 45 minute wait quoted and wound up taking over an hour. As frustrating as it can be, we knew the wait would be worth it for those wings, but most importantly the Owner was there and he apologized, and asked if those of us waiting wanted a beer or fries- we didnt take his offer, but those gestures go a long way to keeping your faithful happy, and it's the customer service we've come to appreciate......
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSeriously have had frozen pizza that is 10 times better. My son has ate this pizza at school and liked it so we thought we would give it a try. NY pizza is our usual go to however they are closed on Mondays. We called and my significant other asked for a large pizza half cheese half meat lovers and an order of wings. The girl on the phone told him she would check to see if they could do half cheese half meat. She said they could. Mind you EVERYWHERE we have ever gotten pizza from we have always been able to order half cheese half meat.
Well my S.O. showed up and was given a pizza that was ALL meat and no cheese on one half and they put no bacon on the receipt which we would have NEVER said. They also did not add his wings to the order. When my S.O. questioned the pizza the manager told him they can't do half cheese half meat. I have NEVER heard of a pizza place that can't make half and half. The manager tried to make it right by giving us 4 slices of cheese pizza. I took 2 bites of the cheese pizza and it is probably the worst pizza I have tasted. It was cold and chewy and not even edible.
The wings are just sub par. We will be sticking to NY pizza express which is so much better. If they are closed we would rather spend the money at Mario's which may be a little pricey but absolutely worth the price. This was by far the worst $50 we have ever wasted and now I have to figure out something else for dinner. Definitely will...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhen we first discovered this restaurant in June 2019, it was a heavenly taste of home for this Buffalo girl. The pizza, the wings, the fingers... it was all dead on to what I'd grown up enjoying. Something has changed over the last 6 months however.
I'm not sure if their management changed or what but, the quality of the food has gone extremely downhill. The pizza is greasy and often inconsistent as far as the amount of toppings etc., the wings are either overcooked to the point of being jerky or swimming in so much sauce that the chicken is completely lost, and the fingers... well I'm not even sure how to describe what's happened with them.
A chicken finger is fried and then sauced just a like a wing typically but, the last 3 times I've ordered them, they've been burnt, barely sauced, or what I can only describe as double fried (where it appears they were fried, sauced, and fried again).
Because of the love we had for this place initially, I kept wanting to give them another try but, after another "double-fried finger" situation today (where they were dry and tough) we are officially done giving them chances. It's a shame really as there is a huge population of transplants from WNY around Charlotte and they really could've been "the place to go" for those looking for a taste of home and now, we'd rather not...
