Last night my husband and I went to your Big Eyed Fish on Dupont Road, we arrived at 7:25. When we approached the counter the girl at the counter informed us that they were closing at 8. I asked her if she would like us to leave, she said no I just want you to know we close At 8. So we went ahead and ordered our dinner. We planned on eating there because we live several miles away and didn't want our fish to be cold. We knew it would be closing at 8 and planned to be done eating by then.
We received our food and almost had eaten all of it and on the bottom of the plate in both of our dinners was a long dark hair. We are older so neither of us have dark hair. I contacted the waitress and she commented " ooh that's gross" she informed the cooks, they just looked at us and went about their business.
It appears to me that maybe this was done on purpose. We did not want to be compensated, but to just let them know their behavior was disrespectful and disgusting.
We usually go to your big eyed fish on Wells Street and we love it. People are so friendly and food is great, but because of the time Sunday we wanted to hurry and be done before closing time, we probably will not go back to the Dupont one, big mistake.
I am writing you just to inform you of what is going on at your Dupont restaurant. I feel this kind of behavior is not good for your business and maybe you would like to be informed.
Thank you for...
Read moreThis place is top notch. I've never had a bad experience or any off tasting food. You can tell they specialize in fish as it is flaky, seasoned just right, never overcooked, and served fresh/hot. They have more patience than I do as they dealt with this evenings Kevin's and Karen's with more class, and less back hands than I would've. People don't understand wait times that are slightly extended due to it being a Friday during Lent. I'm not trying to preach and get you to convert, but us Catholics only eat fish on Fridays during this, which we consider a sacred time. I saw many complaining and greatly exaggerating their wait times and the entire Big Eyed crew dealt with it calmly and efficiently. Honestly reminded me why I got out of retail awhile ago. The customers were the only knock on the star rating as they made the environment awkward. Whomever worked tonight's shift deserves an extra Lenten bonus from the owners. Thanks again for the...
Read moreMeh. We have wanted to try this place because it is so close to us. We try to keep an open mind, thankful that these places are open with how hard it is to find workers. The issues we had weren’t related to understaffing at all. Our food was just ok. Chips were stale, fish seemed like it was cooked quite awhile before we ordered it. One fish sandwich had a long hair attached to it. It definitely wasn’t ours. I ordered fish tacos and was told that they don’t have any way to make them because they don’t have tortillas. Maybe it was just an issue of running out, but it sure didn’t sound that way. When food orders are completed, they are set on a counter without heat lamps on- lids wide open. One container had been sitting open for quite some time before the order was completed. No wonder food temperature is an issue. Price was fine. Maybe it was a bad day, but nothing about our visit made me want to give it a...
