Big Eyed Fish Express — Restaurant in Indiana

So, I have been to this location 3 times. The first time, my portion was good, food was made well, and tasted great. I had 0 complaints, and ordered the Thursday special (Hamburger with fries). 2nd time, I ordered a hamburger with chips, I was asked what I wanted on the burger. The burger was made well, but I literally only had a few chips in my to go box. I didn't complain because the first time was so good, but the portion was really small for the price. The 3rd time I went in, and got a Cheeseburger with chips. They didn't ask what I wanted on the burger. When I got my food, it was literally the thin burger, bun, cheese, a few small chips, and 3 pickles hidden under the paper in my to go box and they looked as if they had sat out for awhile. When I complained and said the portions were small and the pickles looked off, I was told they have a serving size for chips (BS), and the pickles were fine. I told them I wanted a refund and they said they don't do that. So I payed over 7 dollars for 2 pieces of bread, burger, cheese, 3 hamburger pickles, and about 8 small chips. Terrible, terrible service. Terrible value 2nd and 3rd times. There's only a few tables inside and it's attached to a gas station so location is bad. Here are my takeaways, there must be some workers there doing the right thing because the 1st time I ate there was really good. Whoever was cooking the food the 2nd and 3rd times should be fired. Period. Ridiculous. There are also a lot of younger people working here (late high school or early college). The associate team working together the 1st time was a bunch of old ladies and the food was incredible. 2nd and 3rd times, it was the young crews, and they were terrible. So, if you walk in and see a bunch of old ladies in the back, eat there. If you walk in and see a bunch of kids late teen early 20s, run. You could be given rotten food or nothing at all and told they don't do returns......I'm not going to chance it, and will just go...

I was not even going to leave a review, but as I just sit here and think about the amount of money that I spent at this company for the quality that I got for my food was ridiculous. The fish was horrible. I mean absolutely the presentation of it was ridiculous, I ordered 15 pounds of fish for my daughter baby shower and when I tell you when I saw that fish I was like are you kidding me so I’m like maybe it’s just that first pan no it was all three pans Big eye fish I need y’all to do way better because I spent 200 and something dollars and it was a complete waste. I still have two pans of that crumbled up fish in my refrigerator. I don’t know what people was thinking when they told me oh order it from there they fish is so good, they really hyped this place up. Maybe somebody coming to y’all to buy a little plate of fish but when you ordering a quantity y’all do not do good with presentation. not one piece of fish that I picked up was whole they all was breaking apart, crumbling up or they was already crumbled up to the part where my husband said, I don’t think the fish is done, because why is it crumbled up like that this was just sad, but I didn’t want to ruin my daughters day by bringing that fish back with her Guest already arriving to her baby shower, so I just proceeded on and served all of my food with the smile but be down inside pissed because I cannot believe how that fish looked I would not never spend a dollar in here not even for a water bottle if y’all can’t provide a better look, don’t offer the fact that y’all can do a large quantity because clearly y’all can I ordered food from three other places and it was amazing. Thank God for that nobody noticed that fish. Which is the reason why I still have so much in my refrigerator because of how horrible it...

BUYER BEWARE! The sides listed on the website menu are only 4oz. Yes you read that correctly, they charge $2.75 for 4 oz of rice or macaroni and cheese. We bought fish by the pound and ordered sides to go with it only to discover they are 4 oz sides. Which is fine it’s a free country and they can charge whatever they wish but they should be clear on their menu as to what you are getting for your money. When I called to inquire about it management claimed they have the size listed and well as larger 1/2 pint and 1 pint options. These options are not listed on the menu on the website. Furthermore one of the rolls they served us was stale, so I went in to clarify the situation and was met with a rude young man. They claimed management had left for the night (highly unlikely being that the amount of time between the phone call and my arrival was 15 minutes.) I asked him to show me the pint and half pint size options on the menu and he could not. He then attempted to show me soup sizes somehow relating that to sides. When I pointed out that we didn’t order soup he then lied and said he knows that as he was the employee that took the order and claimed he asked us when ordering if we wanted a pint or half pint which was a lie. He asked no such question during the ordering process and in fact the order was quite rushed as if they were inconvenienced by taking a carry out order during a pandemic. When I refuted that claim the employee removed his mask to get closer to my face and tell me I need to leave because he’s getting heated, poor kid if he can’t handle his emotions with unhappy customer perhaps he shouldn’t have involved himself in an adult situation.
