Probably the worst DQ in fort wayne! It's my husband birthday. So he went into the lower Huntington rd DQ and grab a blizzard cake that was $43.00. He paid for it and had ask to for it to say, "Happy Birthday." The kid he spoke said, he didn't know and walked away. The the manager walks up and he asked her, if she could write happy birthday. She rudely replies, " I don't have time for that!" We left. I was unaware of the issue until we drove off and he seemed upset. When we got home I called asked to speak the manager. The young lady on the phone said she was a manager. I told her the situation and she said she hadn't dealt with anyone up at the counter and she was on drive thru. She spoke with the other manager I could hear her saying yes she dealt with him and she didn't have time. She got on the phone rudely asking me what was my problem. I told her the same thing. She said she didn't have a cake decorated on hand. So I asked her, " as a manager you know how to do that, correct?" She replies with serve aggrevation, I had 20 orders." I then replied, that it shouldn't matter on how many orders you have, you should focus on what is wanted to be done by a customer." Then right in the middle of having this conversation she hangs up on me. Then proceeds to turn the phone off. This lady is highly unprofessional and shouldn't have the role of manager when treated a loyal customer with disrespect. She could of easily have asked him to wait but she didn't. After dealing with that we order pizza and we eat pizza and had our ice cream cake after. We went outside and he states to gag. And out of his mouth is a long piece of hair wrapped around his chocolate nugit stuff. Then proceeds to puke. Wasn't going post about the first half as I had already called other store to ask for the GM number or to be contacted. The young lady at that store was AMAZING!!!!! She took my name and number. I greatly appreciate her wishing my husband a happy birthday and apologies for the other stores behavior. That young lady deserves to be on spotlight for handling a situation that wasn't even hers. But the HAIR is what made me post this to Google. I really hope lower Huntington rd cleans up on their staff. If handle by the GM. I will update this but as of right now. DQ review for Lower Huntington Rd location I desire ice cream everyday! Multiple times a day!! My favorite blizzard treat is the Brownie Batter Blizzard!! This location is the ONLY location in all of Fort Wayne, Bluffton and Markle, that actually makes it proper!!! I always get a large Brownie Batter Blizzard at least 4 days a week. Some days I’ve even stopped in twice for a large BBBlizzard. The large get 4 scoops or Brownie Batter with 4 scoops of the brownie bits. All the other locations I’ve stopped at do, 1-2 scoops of batter and maybe 2 scoops of brownie bits. I’ve had 2 locations complain they don’t do the 4 scoops of batter because it’s thick and makes the blizzard hard to make. Well I’m sorry, this is part of your job description and that’s what makes this blizzard what it is!! Make it right, or don’t make it at all!! This location though, they do it right all the time!!

The staff here really are great people. The friendliest face that I’ve got used to seeing on my near daily stop is Elijah. I have had several interactions with Elijah and he’s a wonderful person/employee with what I’ve seen as showing great character, a great personality, a positive attitude, great work ethic and always serves and greets with a smile. Elijah wanting to be better at his job asked me out of curiosity, what I believe is the best way to make the blizzard knowing it is a pain to make but It really is best making half/half. Take large cup fill half way with ice cream, 2 scoops of batter, 2 scoops of brownie bits and mix then add the rest of the ice cream, 2 more scoops of batter and bits and mix. Once completed, you are left with perfection that keeps me coming back day after day until the batter runs out. Sadly, I Then have to wait around for next BBBlizzard season.

I recently had oral surgery and needed to eat soft foods. Naturally, I thought Dairy Queen would be perfect. I explained that I couldn't speak very loud because of my recent surgery to which I was told in a rather rude tone to just pull around. After I sat with the window down in the pouring rain waiting on the employee to come to speak with me, I was greeted with an eye roll. Not what I would consider great customer service. I mean, I'd had surgery a few days prior and just wanted some ice cream. I go back the next day, at a different time just to see how the customer service is then. Not any better. I explained again that I wasn't able to talk very loud. He either didn't care or didn't understand what I had just said to him. The employee handed me my drink with the lid not on all of the way so it ended up all over me. For someone who is new to the Fort Wayne area and has always been a fan of Dairy Queen, I don't think I'll be going back. It makes me sad that people feel the need to be rude to...
