Dutch Cafe — Restaurant in Indiana

If I could give negative stars I would. Brought my fiance and mother in to dine in for lunch. Figured it was going to be a great find due to ratings. Unfortunately this isn't it. Walking through the door could be deceitful because it seems like a well put together place. wrong. Mismatched tables, a salad bar that looked like it's been sitting like that for days, and the soup was cambells chicken noodle soup. Aka no flavor, no veggies, no effort. Microwaved. As a waitress and former chef my self. I know one way to find out how truly this place is taken care of. Look. At. The. BATHROOMS! DISGUSTING. Like it hasn't been cleaned ever. Hair, dirt, smeared to what look like a foot print of feces. Just all around gross. I own a cleaning company, hire me to clean your place because your employees are lazy and miserable and arent doing it. I would walk in any restaurants bathroom before even thinking about eating. But I wanted to give it a shot and we were well over an hour away from home.. Carrying on... We got probably what was one of the most miserable looking waitresses I've ever encountered. No smile, no greeting, no have you been here before? No interaction. Straight RBF. Didn't tell us specials, didn't recommend not a single thing straight to the point of "what do you want" coffee I got ice cold!! Didn't bring me creamer either had to go and search for it. Took an amensly amount of time to come back to tell us that they were out of the one thing my fiance even wanted. Myself and his mother tried the salad bar and soup. Like I said previous. It wasn't even fresh, soggy, old, watery everything... I saw the biscuits and gravy from another table. And they said yeah! They are a staple here. It was too late for us by the time, to think about ordering anything out of that kitchen. Will...

We stopped in for our first time Sunday morning about 9am. Looked busy from the parking lot but the place is very big inside. Didnt look like many people at all. Sign said seat yourself, so we did. Waitress was there in a couple minutes with a smile. We where going there to try the breakfast bar, but it ended up being more of a breakfast, lunch, salad bar lol. I had the bacon, sausage links, fryed potatoe squares, biscuits and gravy. Everything was hot, and good. The biscuits where some of the best i have had ( other than my homemade lol) I only had breakfast items so I can't give an opinion on the other things but my wife said the lunch items were very good. We did not use the restroom so no reviews there. We where very pleased our first time, and can't wait to go back. We only had the buffet and each a drink. I belive the cost before tip was $41 or so. It seemed a little high to me but that could have been our fault. Not sure how the pricing works for the buffets. We may have been able to select just the breakfast or so on for a cheaper price. If your not a pig like me they also have menus you can order witch would have been cheaper I would guess. Only thing negative i can say is as some of the other reviews mentioned it was a little cool in there. Not for me i enjoyed it but an elderly couple who set next to us seamed cold, and the price was a little high for me, but hey I'll pay it again...

Driven by many times and finally decided to stop. At first glance it seemed like a nice and clean restaurant… soon found out I was wrong. Nothing bad about the service, our waitress was very nice and checked on us frequently. They do have well water which made the drinks taste a little off but that was the least of my worries. I had lunch on my mind and noticed they had a salad bar, which is very rare now of days. I went to check it out and was mortified! There was black mold growing around the whole top edge and they had rags stuffed in the side to hide what I’m assuming was more mold. So lunch was off the menu. I decided to order breakfast and it wasn’t bad. After I ate I went to the bathroom and GROSS. In every corner of the room was dirt and filth, not to mention profanity carved and written on the wall next to the toilet. In the back corner by the toilet was black mold growing up the wall. I went back to my table and just sat there. I got my check asap and happened to look through to the kitchen where I see the cook touching all of the food with bare hands, then running his hand through his hair, then wiping them on his apron, then touching food again!
