Renee's Chicago Dogs — Restaurant in Indiana

Being from the region, I love a good Chicago hotdog but living in central Indiana it's not something one comes across with any regularity. And when you find it on the menu, it's never what you remember. Until you find yourself in Monticello Indiana at Renee's Chicago dogs. Wow. The dogs are genuine, the poppy seeded buns are the perfect texture, the dill spear, peppers, relish,mustard. Man I felt like Kurt Russell in backdraft. Great dog! They gave me an Italian beef sample. Solid 9/10. Comes w peppers and au jux but just ask and they will do what you want. I also had an old timey root beer and creme soda. Perfect compliment to the dogs. The diner has the 50s diner seats, booths, signage and they were even playing 50s songs. Super friendly counter staff, perfectly clean, lots of food options... Oh and they have a dozen ice cream flavors with the real cones. It smells so good in here! Right on 421. It's 20 min away but I'll be back...

If you don't know anything about Chicago authentic food, you may complain. I have read enough people on here complaining & it is ridiculous. I have seen 3-4 businesses try to open up Chicago food drive thru's & restaurants in Lafayette & they end up closing their doors. FINALLY, we have the best place open. Tastes just like I am at a very authentic Chicago restaurant. Those cheesy beefs are so excellent & perfect. The juice is great, along with peppers. The fries are awesome. Today was my 3rd time there. I just can't stop craving your menu. Can you please do one thing? Fountain coke products are a must. And maybe down the line, a couple Chicago authentic pizzas? I lived in Schaumburg IL for 11 years. I now live along on water close to Oakdale Inn. Your manager is an absolute great guy....

Wow thank goodness that I went to Renee's place. It's just like they advertise. The dog's and Italian beef is and has the authentic Chi-Town or Chicago tastes right down to the delicious bread. We ordered a boat load of food and we have to say it was very reasonably priced. I ordered 2 itaian beef sandwiches and a Chicago dog and chicken strips and several other items for under 40 smakaroo's ( Cheap). It fed 4 people . The wait staff is extremely friendly helpful. The WBC rootbeer is even delicious and tastes like it used to back in the 70s. It's the apitamy of the little gem in Monticello Indiana and I am glad I found it. I highly recommend this place for food that will take you and your taste bud's to great food that Chicago has. Rock on 🤘. See use...
