Whole thing started bad when i ordered for pickup and was told to pick up at certain time. When i got there at that time they hadnt even started to fix my food. I ordered pulled pork,rib tips, pulled chicken, brisket, slaw,beans and macncheese. Cole slaw and beans were only things edible. Dont be fooled by the pics online. I cook bbq and am a certified bbq judge. Ive eaten alot of bbq. I hate to say this about a local place, but this was the worst bbq and sides ive ever had. All of the meat was hard and dry. It was obvious it had sat all day. The mac n cheese had sat so long it was dry and brown. It looked like kraft that had sat on the stove overnight. I ordered at 5pm so you would think things would be fresh. This was $75 that i just threw away. I tried a local spot to support a local, but i would not...

The world is full of glitz & glamour BBQ places. But that doesn’t always give you good BBQ. In fact, if your carnivore & meat enthusiast like I am, you may find yourself ordering less in a meal than you would have 4-5 years ago. Scratch House has the best priced brisket I’ve seen in a while (that I didn’t make myself) & it’s going on my favorites list for when I can get to the south side of Indy. The brisket was great, the cole slaw paired nicely and the ambiance is pleasant. The owner’s parents were there keeping him company & I had a pleasant conversation with them. From the outside it doesn’t look like much, but like southern bbq places, you’re not their for the dazzle, you’re there for the meat. I highly recommend getting in there helping him...
