Tack Room Tavern — Restaurant in Indio

The Tack Room is on the Empire Polo Grounds property. I visited twice while attending the Coachella Valley Invitational. It is a 3 min walk down a driveway to reach their front door.

On both occasions a table was ready for us. Inside seating was comfortable with booths, tables, and bar seating. They have a large outside patio for extra seating. It was very comfortable thanks to their many heat lamps and firepits. It also has a large covering for shade.

Service was fast and friendly. Cocktails were well crafted and made with high quality ingredients. Soft drink refills were timely. Servers were well versed in menu items and answered any questions. I requested my burger be lettuce wrapped and ordered a Manhattan based off of the Old Fashion on the menu. Ordering was easy.

Everything we ordered was great. Ribeye steak was excellent and came with melted garlic butter. It worked well with the steak and the vegetables. Lettuce wrapped burger was awesome as well. I would say that the two stand outs were the pozole rojo and the cobb tower. The pozole was an unexpected offering and was fantastic. The cobb salad is in the top tier of cobbs. Blue cheese and ranch dressings were tasty and the perfect consistency. None of that watery dressing business found here.

If you’re interested in booking a private event here - don’t. We had been calling as well as emailing The Tack room since 12/4/23 with no response. When we first called, we were told we needed to speak to Julie who was not in. We called back and she was too busy and we were told to call back, every time we would call Julie was either not in or unavailable. Both my fiancé and I emailed the email listed on their website, and received no response. I then had the thought to send them a DM on instagram to see if we would receive a response. Shockingly, I received a response with a new email address. I emailed right away and a woman named Rochelle responded extremely quickly! She put me in touch with…you guessed it..the elusive Julie over email. After a week, I still did not receive a response back so I followed up and FINALLY on 1/19/24 Julie responded that they were booked. This is absolutely devastating as we haven’t explored any other options for our event as we unfortunately had our hearts set on...

My Kid’s & I came here tonight to have our usual family night fun for Karaoke night. We were asked to leave because our dog didn’t have his paperwork proving his service certification. Which we’ve brought before many times. Yet tonight we had forgotten it. We never thought we’d be ask after he’d been coming with us for a month. My Daughter suffers from PTSD after a traumatic event in her life. So while driving him home to get the paperwork. My Daughter had a anxiety attack & became hysterical! By the time we got home she no longer wanted to go to family night. Then I returned without her to find a MINOR sitting at the BAR!!!??!?? Like SERIOUSLY? Rules are rules! If one is enforced then they ALL should be! Pettiness is not okay! They also pressure you to drink alcohol. I hate alcohol...
