Do NOT mini golf here! I should have heeded the red flags early in our experience today: no score cards available, a super limited selection of balls, and the cashier’s request that we not attempt the last hole with the cow because it was broken. Now I’ve read another review from 4 years ago citing the same “please don’t play our busted hole” request. How do they still claim to have mini golf? It is clearly an abandoned and terribly maintained experience. My kids and I have played a lot of mini golf this summer and have never experienced such a decrepit course: There is moss and mud on most of the turf, the fencing is broken and laying all over the course, the rivers do not flow (they are dry and full of sticks, rocks, and leaves), the trees and plants need trimming because they encroach many of the greens, and the “ponds” are filthy swamps full of frogs and algae. We toughed it out (my kids still love to play!) but shared our concerns with the young lady at the counter when turning in our clubs and balls. We were met with an apathetic shrug and “well we’re an ice cream place and not a mini golf place”. Disappointing and somewhat rude response for an employee of a place that says “ice cream and mini golf” on the sign. We had originally went there for both the ice cream and mini golf, but after the mini golf, we decided on a strong NO to spending another dime here. 10ish years ago, this place was the best there was. Today, unfortunately, it took top billing...
Read moreMediocre ice cream, horrible service. Took forever to fill our order, partly because the kid scooping our ice cream kept stopping to pick up her cell phone to text someone. All the kids working back there seemed to be spending as much time on their phones as they spent actually working.
Pee before you go. We started a round of mini golf. Halfway through, my eight year old had to use the facilities. No problem I thought, there are public bathrooms here. Wrong, they're closed. Out of order? Nope, just closed at a certain time even though the business is open for several more hours. I asked the clerk if she could just pop open the doors, my kid was about to burst. No. Can I speak to you manager? No, there no manager here. Well who is in charge? So she goes and gets another teenager. Can you let my kid in to use the bathroom? No. I want my money back, since we couldn't finish our round of mini golf. No.
And don't let the name fool you,...
Read moreWhite Farms Ice Cream in Ipswich has been around for over 50 years and is a place I frequented as a kid. Now, whenever I travel back to this area it is a Must stop for great ice cream. They have over 50 flavors of home-made ice cream both hard and soft serve. Any variation of chocolate is my choice, especially the Chocolate Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup while my wife likes the Almond Joy. Prices are fair and the quantity is large. They are easily identified by the cow on the roof. Plenty of tables for seating and an outdoor tent for shade from the summer sun. Mini golf is...
