Read moreThis was our fourth time dining here over the years, and unfortunately, it has gone downhill every time. After this visit, it’s safe to say it will be our last.
We had a reservation and were seated promptly, but there were no menus. When we asked, we were told we’d get them when they became available. Fifteen minutes passed—still no menus, no water. When we finally got menus, we ordered drinks, appetizers, and entrees. The drinks (three non-alcoholic, one martini) were good, as were the tater tots and fried pickles.
Then came the long wait. We had been there an hour before our entrées arrived. Two of us had dishes that required a knife (steak and duck), but our waitress had disappeared yet again—this was a recurring theme all night. It took another 10 minutes to get knives, by which point our food had cooled significantly.
That’s when I realized my "medium" steak was barely seared—practically raw. The duck breast was also undercooked. I attempted a bite of the steak, only to find it was completely unseasoned—no salt, no pepper, no flavor whatsoever. I didn’t eat any more of it. My dining companion made do with the duck leg and mashed potatoes.
Another 15 minutes passed before the bartender (not our waitress) finally checked on us. She kindly offered to replace our meals, but by then, the other two at our table had nearly finished eating, and we’d already been there an hour and a half. We just asked for the check.
As the manager made her way to our table, she stopped at the one next to us—turns out they had the same issue: undercooked, flavorless meat. She comped their meals and did the same for us. While that was appreciated, the most frustrating part was that we still spent nearly one hundred and fifty dollars for a two-hour ordeal where half our party didn’t even get to eat.
Really disappointing...
Read moreWe recently hosted our rehearsal dinner at the Grove restaurant, and it was a wonderful evening. The private Bramble House room at the back provided the perfect setting for our intimate gathering of 20, offering a cozy atmosphere enhanced by the warm glow of the gorgeous fireplace.
The size of the room was just right for our group, providing an intimate and exclusive feel that made the evening truly special. The attention to detail in the holiday decor and ambiance of the space added a touch of charm, creating a welcoming environment for our guests. We loved that there was a private entrance to the Bramble House, a dedicated bar, and bathrooms nearby so our guests never had to venture into the main restaurant itself. It made for a great private dining experience.
One of the highlights of the evening was undoubtedly the fantastic food. Each dish of the seasonal menu was expertly prepared, and the flavors were simply outstanding. The chef's dedication to quality ingredients shone through in every bite. Our guests loved the focaccia bread with the starter and pumpkin ravioli entree, but the star of the show was the cinnamon bread pudding dessert—an absolute crowd-pleaser. Our guests were raving about it!
Beyond the wonderful food and charming ambiance, the attentive and friendly staff played a crucial role in making our evening so memorable. We worked with coordinator Dayna and her professionalism and attention to detail was truly appreciated!
In summary, our rehearsal dinner at Grove was a resounding success. The combination of the intimate and cozy Bramble House room, the outstanding culinary offerings, and the attentive staff made for an unforgettable experience. We highly recommend Grove for...
