Steam Engine Pizza Pub — Restaurant in Irvine

Heard this place was very good so my wife and I decided to make the 45 minute drive to try it. Very nice place and great atmosphere, however the rest was so-so. We were the only people there and it took almost 5 minutes to be greeted. Wife ordered a tea that tasted like water. I asked about drafts and was told, there's a menu on the wall in the other room by the bar. After we got our drinks, it took almost 15 minutes, being the only people there, to have our order taken. Ordered the garlic bread sticks as an appetizer and a pizza. The pizza came first. Each had a slice of pizza before the bread sticks came out. The bread sticks were not good. Most of them where hollow and crunchy. Not worth having. The pizza was good. I would have the pizza again, but won't drive 45 minutes just for it. The waitress was very nice but the service was not good. In all, if I lived there, I would give it another try but I won't make the trip just to try it again. The pizza is great. When I'm in town I usually stop for dinner. The service is not good, and that's generally true and worse than hit or miss. It's not one person that is bad at serving but the restaurant in general. This past weekend it wasn't busy and it took about an hour to get our food. One order came out wrong. They forgot another person's order and when it finally came out it was wrong. The appetizers came out either with the pizza of after. No refills from the server so I went to the soda machine a couple times myself with drinks from the table. After over an hour or waiting, wrong orders, and forgotten orders, there was no attempt to make it right, only a half felt apology for the service. I'm sure I'll come back again, and the food will be good, but it will be slow and incorrect. I'll leave with a happy belly, a slight headache, and absolutely no desire to recommend this...

I would give negative stars if possible!!!! It has been awhile since I ordered from here and I probably never will again. The last time that we ordered "delivery" we waited for almost 2 hours on our pizza and cheese sticks. I called twice to check on it and was very understanding. The third time I called, I WAS upset, and won't deny it. When I spoke with the "manager" she was EXTREMELY RUDE!!!!!! She made the statement "Our drivers are very busy, and you're not the only person that ever orders pizza" How unprofessional is that? YOUR PAYING CUSTOMER! I was appalled and demanded my money back.
