Dera Grill — Restaurant in Irving

Last Sunday I arranged my son's birthday in their banquet. Previously I have done 4 get togethers there (under old management), every time in their restaurant. Everything was perfect, from food to management and specially the staff courtesy. This time, I again chose to do my party at Dera Grill despite all the other better options available to me. But I am sad to mention that it was the worst experience for me with their new management. The quality they give me for every single thing was not up to the mark for the price they charged me. The biggest issue of their banquet was that there heating system was not working. When I inquired, the manager lady on the party night, she said that "I dont know about it and it is cold outside thats why it is getting cold inside". How you don't know about it, at the time of booking and deposit you should have informed me that heating is not working. You are offering the banquet for the customer's party and you don't have your HVAC mentained.The temperature at that night was in above 50s but it was much much cooler inside. All of my guests complained about it. And I was so embarassed. They brought 2 heaters to warm up the place but those were of no use.

This restaurant is a failing business in the making. They did not have any biryanis which is probably the most commonly favorite item in any Pakistani restaurant. They did not even have sodas just Diet Coke. What kind of a restaurant only has one soda option??!! That’s terrible for business. There burgers were not real burgers. Instead of a beef patty they put chapli kabab instead. That is definitely NOT a cheeseburger. I decided I wanted another burger but they ran out of burgers too (unbelievable) one of my family members wanted the carrot halwa yesterday and it took them such a long time to make it. They told us three minutes meanwhile it’s been ten minutes still no carrot halwa. (It does not take that long to make either). We didn’t feel like waiting any longer for that so we just ate whatever we had and left. This restaurant totally ruined our dining experience yesterday. Do not eat from here. Had a very bad experience. Went there with my family to eat buffet today. Few of the dishes were almost empty and halwa was completely out. When we requested for halwa, one of the waitresses said that chef is not in the restaurant and we are out of halwa. Imagine... main dish halwa that goes with puri was out in the buffet and on top of it waitress said she herself would make it in 5 mins. Lol. Right when we were leaving more halwa was put out that looked more like a syrup than halwa. She said, we were not expecting that many people today so that's why we weren't prepared.
