You can travel 4 miles in any direction and not pass a better establishment.
I am a regular at almost every restaurant in the area. Generally when i find a new restaurant I like to go every night for a week to get a feel for how the crowd looks each different night of the week. Here's my review for Namaste Grill & Bar.
I came across Namaste by chance and had never knew there was an Indian/ Nepali style restaurant in that shopping center. When I walked in I was surprised how nice it was inside. The decor looks rich.
My very first visit, I was immediately politely greeted and I was treated as if I had been there a hundred times and like she was expecting me and happy to see me. I seriously thought maybe she was mistaking me for someone because she was that nice. I followed my regular pattern and came for a full week and then every few nights I'd stop in again. Every single visit the entire staff has been 100% top tier.
Being the type of person who checks places out multiple times, you get to really see what the service is like. Sadly there are very few places where the servers are friendly and even worse, some places have staff that you can tell don't really want to work. They might help guests once in 20 minutes. But here, all the staff continually just check on you. I've visited here at least 30 times and I've never seen this team ever standing around. They don't ever give off that feeling that doing something for you is a chore. They always seem happy to help. I've only counted 3 times that I ran out of beer before I was asked if I wanted another and that's because the entire restaurant was full. Even then I had a beer in 2 or 3 minutes tops. This team is a well oiled service machine!
From my very first experience I have never felt like a customer here. I have felt like a friend walking into a bar full of friends. They treat everyone like this. I've seen it over and over. They don't overkill they just make sure you are taken care of.
The Food: The food is amazing. I've tried a lot at this point and have yet to find something I don't like. Everything is hot and full of flavor and comes out quickly and with great presentation. Much like the decor, every dish delivered has an expensive look to it. Yet, the prices here are lower than other places with inferior service, taste, presentation, and atmosphere. It sounds like an exaggeration, but it literally is the best tasting food, best presentation, best atmosphere and friendliest staff, and also the best prices. Why would you go anywhere else?! Note If you have never tried Indian or Nepali food, start with mild spicy for your food spice level. I am Latino. So I grew up eating spicy stuff. But I tried "hot spicy" and I was sweating bullets. What I used to consider hot is "medium Spicy" at most Indian/ Nepali restaurants that I have visited.
The Crowd: It is mostly Indian speaking and Nepali speaking folks but I've seen representation of every race. Also wide age group of visitors. Some folks dressed super sharp and others just your casual daily clothes. Seems like a place where all are welcome.
The Bar: I only have a couple drinks that I ever drink, so I haven't tried a lot of what they have for mixed drinks, but they do have a lot of mixed drinks on the menu as well as a decent selection of wines. They don't have a huge selection of liquor but they have all the good stuff that most folks like to drink. They have a small tap with around 7 beer options as well as 5 or 6 bottle beer options. I drink Corona normally but they have an Indian style beer called Taj that is great also. For a small, 7 chair bar, it's a great one with lots to offer.
Overall, I clearly recommend this place. Everything about this place exceeds the best of any other restaurant/bar for several miles in any direction. The staff are natives of Nepal and can communicate in Hindi, Nepalese, and English. I think one girl even speaks a little Spanish. If you like getting the best of prices and service and atmosphere then...
Read moreOverall an ok experience. Would try them again, but wouldn't order some of the same items.
The value isn't there for several items & dishes, some flavors were great and others not-so-much, and service could be more attentive. Perhaps we just caught them on an off-day.
If you're thinking of trying this place and find yourself in Fort Worth, try the Namaste off N. Beach St. instead. It was a notably much better all-around experience.
Food: -Samosas - Would not purchase again, too costly for what you get. Overpriced ($10 for two medium-sized samosas w/ curry - $5 a samosa is wild) and the samosa couldn't stand well on its own, it lacked depth of flavor without the curry. It was good with the curry, just not worth the $. -Gobi Manchurian - Would purchase again. Had a notable ketchup flavor in the sauce that wasn't to my liking. However, the texture and flavor otherwise was good and I'd give the dish another shot in the hopes off a less ketchup-heavy flavoring. -Fried rice w/ egg - Might give it another shot but ask them to spice it up some more. Dish was ok, but a bit lacking in flavor. -Tea Masala - Would not purchase again, costly for what you get and not the experience any at our table expected. Not much flavor and tasted much like black tea just left to cook longer. Didn't detect any typical spices expected in masala (e.g. - ginger, black peppercorn, etc.). -Kadai Paneer - Would purchase again, but would love to see larger portion size for the $. Overall flavor was good, probably my favorite dish experienced here. -Naan - Was decent. -Spice levels - Subjective, of course, but there is a big gap between "spicy" and "extra spicy". "Extra spicy" has a good kick and is enjoyable, but is often too much for everybody at the table. There is a massive fall-off to the spice level of "spicy" though, leaving many at the table wanting. Would be awesome to see "spicy" brought up closer to "extra spicy" and more in-line with the graduating levels of the overall spice-level offerings.
Service: Friendly, but mildly absent.
Ambiance was nice. -Clean, including the bathrooms. (Much appreciated) -Music was ok, but repetitive. Had the same ~8 songs on repeat. -Wall-to-wall TVs with a variety of interesting offerings, mostly sports. Space is open enough that it wasn't overwhelming and the TV's were mounted high enough that they didn't constantly draw the eye during conversation. -View overlooked a stream (which our group liked) and part of a...
Read moreMy friend recommended this restaurant, and with my wife eager to try it out, and decided to pay a visit. Despite high expectations set by my friends recommendation, our dining experience revealed a mix of highlights and disappointments, particularly in terms of the food.
Ambiance and Service: The restaurant boasts a modern ambiance that blends upscale dining with a sports bar vibe. Personally, I found it a bit dark, but overall, it offered a pleasant atmosphere with tastefully integrated TVs that weren't too distracting. The staff was excellent—professional and attentive throughout.
Bar: The bar stood out with its wide selection of reasonably priced alcohol options. It was clear they put effort into their drink offerings, which was appreciated.
Food Review: Fried Veg Momos: The portion size was decent, but the flavor was just okay. Chicken Momos: These were quite generous in quantity, but unfortunately, they were overly tangy due to too much sauce. Veg Chowmein: While the food wasn't necessarily served cold, it felt cold upon eating, indicating potential issues with timing or preparation. Gobi Manchurian: The cauliflower was crispy, but it was also overly tangy, which detracted from the dish's enjoyment.
Overall Experience: Despite enjoying the ambiance, bar offerings, and attentive service, the food fell short of expectations. Although the total bill was reasonable, I felt that the quality of the dishes didn't quite justify the cost.
So why the 3 stars? My biggest thing is food and service while not so much with the ambience however this place stuck to me as great service with average taste for the price. Knowing this, I might consider other...
