Update 12/29/24-

Ordered Vegetable LoMein. The lady working the counter was very friendly. And this LoMein is perfect! Huge portions and only a ten minute wait. YUM!

Update 2/14/23-

Ordered vegetable Lo Mein, lunch sesame chicken and crab rangoons. Absolutely hot and delicious, large portions and prepared fast!!! The staff was friendly when I picked up my order. 5 out of 5 stars for Ishpeming China King!!!

Update 6/2/22-

Placed a phone order for sesame chicken and vegetable lo mein. Was done when I arrived and the customer service was great!

Food was excellent as well! How are people complaining that they give a lot of food at the same price as a McDonald’s value meal? Chicken was tender and the vegetable lo mein is one of our favorites.

I highly recommend you try the China King. The food is good- I would not say the best there is out there- but it’s a wonderful thing to have in Ishpeming and the prices are unbelievably great!

Still five stars!

Update 9/30/21-

I called and ordered vegetable LoMein with extra mushrooms and vegetable fried rice. My food was ready in only ten minutes, the counter person was extremely friendly and the price is unbelievably good- only $15.23 and it’s enough for two adults to eat twice! Make sure to tip well- even with a $5 tip it’s only slightly above $20.

The food was hot, and perfectly done. They really loaded up the veggies which were fresh. The fried rice was flawlessly done as well; no hard rice pieces and very flavorful!

I rate China King 10/10. I have always had an extremely pleasant experience here and the staff / food / ease of location to pickup the food is great!

Update 2/19/2021: I called to place an order for Vegetable LoMein, and Broccoli Chicken. The woman who answered the phone was polite. She told me it would only be about ten minutes.

When I arrived, and entered, all safety protocols were being followed. I paid and made my drive home.

The food is wonderful! It was piping hot, very fresh, and flavorful. The broccoli had a crispness to it, and the portions are made for giants. After two of us ate, we each still have more than a meal left!

My China King Ishpeming Rating: Service: 5/5 they are always so friendly to me :) Price: 5/5 the meals are portioned very, very large for under $10. I don’t know anyone who could finish one entree in a single sitting. Wonderful! Food: 5/5 I have taken out China Kong at least 30 times over the years. Every single time I have enjoyed it. You will, too! I have tried many different dishes, and they are all tasty here. Overall: 5/5 China King Ishpeming is a very friendly, very great asset to our area. Thank you, China King!!!

DANGEROUS! Stay away! Yesterday, I ordered lunch for pick up. When I paid the credit card machine was slow and the woman working started yelling “no money!” The card processed and my capital one card notified me that it went through. She ran it again immediately and I was charged twice. I showed her the charges on my phone and she said “no, once”. I attempted to communicate with her about it and she was screaming and yelling at me and the man working with her. She eventually called her niece who I could assume is the owner. The owner talked to me and I explained and said I’m fine with even getting the cash back ($14.50) or a gift certificate if they couldn’t take the charge off. Their solution was for me to pay with cash and they would eventually take the charges off. I told them I wasn’t going to pay three times for my lunch. The owner told the woman (her aunt) to give me a gift certificate and the woman refused. The owner kept saying, “well my auntie said she only charged you once”. At this point I had wasted too much of my time for $14.50 so I was just leaving and the woman came from around the counter and attempted to GRAB my food right from my hands! I honestly thought I was going to be punched in this janky Chinese restaurant. I told her “no, I’ve paid for this food TWICE and I’m taking it” and walked past her. Another customer was in there and also couldn’t believe this encounter. Stay away! The most unprofessional employees and business I’ve ever...

The food is pretty good, no complaints there. But the service is borderline atrocious. I ordered by phone and included something that I didn't realize wasn't on their menu (mooshu) - because U didn't have their menu handy. The woman taking my order didn't correct me (not care that the other 3 things I ordered were on the menu). When I got there nothing had been prepared because she thought it was a prank (because my cell phone is from a different area code). I get that English may not be theit first language, but if you don't have anyone who can functionally speak English to take orders then perhaps it's worthwhile to invest in online ordering as opposed to what's currently happening. I've ordered many times (from this phone number) and to be told, "sorry, I thought it was a prank, so we didn't make your food," is not acceptable. Very disappointed as the food is good, but that kind of service isn't acceptable -even from a small family business. I'll be looking at alternatives and encouraging friends and family (and you, kind reader) to do the same if my business isn't...
