Jasper Ridge Brewery & Restaurant — Restaurant in Ishpeming

Went in with husband and grandson for dinner tonight 9/17/21. They were not very busy. I had forgotten my phone and asked the waitress if they had a full menu because the plastic one was missing the kids menu and the burgers. She said they didn’t have one. She rattled off the kids menu and said burgers were basically build your own. I ordered a French Dip(no cheese) and fries. Husband ordered a cheeseburger with just pickles (ketchup and mustard are on the table). Grandson ordered macaroni and cheese. According to their limited menu it states that the French Dip is shaved roast beef. The sandwich I received was some type of ground meat. When I questioned the waitress about it she was extremely rude and stated “that is how our French Dip meat comes” I have ordered that same sandwich at Jasper Ridge for years and it has never been ground meat. Never!! My husband got Lettuce, tomatoes, onion and pickle with his cheeseburger. He detests onions and ate nothing that was touching the onion. Thankfully they didn’t screw up the macaroni and cheese. The waitress never returned to our table to offer drink refills or to see if we wanted or needed anything else. A different waitress noticed us sitting, waiting and asked if we were finished and offered to get our bill. When we got to the register to pay the lady at the register asked how everything was. When we said it was awful and I tried to explain about the French Dip her reaction was the same as the waitress. Stating “that is how our French Dip meat comes.” Again, defensive. Went there last night for dinner (Sunday) I ordered a mimosa (the listed special for the day) and my boyfriend got a Bloody Mary. 15 min later the waitress comes back and asks what I want my drink mixed with, vodka, rum, whiskey. Clearly didn't know what a mimosa was. About 5 min later she comes back with his Bloody Mary and says they are trying to find the champagne for my drink. (If it was a special for the day, wouldn't you know if you had all the right ingredients for it?!) after a total of 30 minutes from walking in, I changed my drink order because they couldn't find the ingredients to make what I initially ordered. We had ordered an appetizer (half order nachos) and then put our dinner order in. After about an hour of being there all our food arrived at once: nachos, (missing half the toppings listed it came with on the menu) a side salad came with my meal, my meal, and my boyfriend's meal. My meal was cold (ordered the salmon and mashed potatoes) he was totally disgusted by what he ordered (gormet Mac and cheese) it took forever for him to get a beer. Got the check and prices didn't match the menu price. It was the worst experience we've ever had at a restaurant. We've been there a few times before too and never had any complaints. Me and my partner visited Jasper Ridge Brewery while in town and am unsure if we would recommend this place to a friend. One night we sat at the bar and the bartender (Emily?) may potentially be one of the worst bartenders we have had in recent memory. She constantly interrupted our conversations to tell stories about her self (self-centered much) while talking extremely loud. So after a drinks my partner nudged me to get going.

The following night we ate in the back room/dining room. We ordered the cheese curds for an app which was delicious! We both order entree's which were also delicious! However, one of us had much more fries than the other so we split the fries. Our server was nice but she appeared to care more about socializing as she walked by our table multiple times with coworkers talking instead of replacing our drinks. One table actually had multiple people at multiple times get refills from a server before we had one refill.

This place has potential to be a great place to dine and grab a drink but the service/atmosphere needs work. It's unbearable to sit at the bar (or bar room) as the bartender will talk/yell the entire visit.
